Totally Accurate Battle Simulator has finally escaped early access. Players can use the hilarious simulator to orchestrate various fights, such as pirates vs. raptors! Anything seems possible in this fantastic game, created by a small independent team called Landfall.

Landfall has been updating this game regularly, and now TABS has been officially released. The launch has introduced a multiplayer mode and additional achievements, but that's not all. The most significant update from this grand release is the new factions: Good Fantasy and Evil Fantasy. A lot of effort has been put into these exciting armies, and they are worth checking out.

Most recently they unveiled a roadmap in a blog post that hinted at more custom character parts to use in the unit creator, a large mystery update Landfall are promising everyone will love and a port to the Playstation and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2022.
It really seems like TABS has finally hit its stride and with multiplayer now an option, there’s no excuse to not check out this bonkers physics-based strategy game. So if you plan on taking a chance on TABS, here’s everything you need to know about their latest addition, the Fantasy-Factions.
16 They’re Extremely Strong
There are some pretty strong units in TABS, especially if you dip a toe into the colorful creations of the Community have made with the Unit Creator. But if you want raw power without weird gimmicks, then you can’t go wrong with the Fantasy Factions because they’re by far the most powerful faction in the game to almost the point of being broken, but in a good way.
For example, the highest tier of the Good Fantasy team is the Chronomancer who can freeze everything around them, float in the air, and fire laser beams. Whilst the top end unit on the Evil side, the Void Monarch, uses summon swords to impale anyone that comes close. Even their basic unit hit pretty hard and have sneaky tricks like teleporting to enemies before tearing them apart.
15 Their Challenge Levels Are Brutal
Some of the faction fights in TABS can be pretty hard on their own, but the ones against the Fantasy team are on another level. They are punishingly brutal and it can take a lot of trial and error to figure out the right way to beat each particular match-up.
Normally in most of the levels, you can win by sending either a big blob at the enemy position or using the strongest unit in the game and a bit of exploiting the geometry. With the Fantasy sections, you’re going to need to get creative, think about match-ups, and use manual control as this team does not mess around. It can only take a few seconds for the perfect defense to fall apart, so take your time in the planning stage of every level.
14 Their Units A Little Pricey
One thing that immediately sets the fantasy faction apart from the others is that their units are a little bit on the expensive side. For example, a basic spearman in the Vanilla game will set you back 150 coins, whilst the Devout Gauntlet, the basic unit for the Good Faction, costs 200. It’s a small bump that, whilst making sense since the more powerful units can cost in the thousands, can limit you a little with how many basic units you can put on the field at once.
But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially considering how unique and ridiculously powerful some of the units and their attacks are. Instead, it encourages you to get to learn their attacks and use them strategically instead of the usual tactic of making a big blob of dudes in a chokepoint and hoping for the best.
13 They Have Their Own Specializations
Like the other factions in TABS, the Fantasy teams have their own unique specializations which set them apart. It allows for a lot of customization in your attacks and army setups instead of grabbing the strongest hitting dude and throwing them right into the middle of an enemy battalion.
The Good Fantasy side is more magic-oriented and much better than crowd control. Whilst the Evil side is more about dealing heavy hits and supporting those that are hitting those big damage numbers, making them perfect for a long-lasting hard-hitting offense or steamrolling breaching strikes into the heart of a formation.
12 They Can Be Unlocked Early
A great thing about the Fantasy factions is that you can get your hands on them pretty early on in the game. So you don’t need to unlock all of the rosters if you want to try out these uniquely designed powerhouses.
Like the rest of the secret units in the roster, you just need to scour the map before a match to find their hidden spot. They’re not too hard to find and should only take a few minutes at most to track down what object you need to activate.
11 How To Unlock The Good Fantasy Map
The Good Fantasy faction comes with a new map, set above the clouds in a heavenly kingdom. This map isn't instantly available. It is hidden beneath the bridge on the Medieval one map. While a battle is commencing, players can float down and spot a mysterious door. Inside, a crypt will begin to glow, creating a bright portal for players to stumble through, unlocking this beautiful map.
As soon as players unlock the Good Fantasy map, they will be launched straight into a new campaign. This campaign has 32 levels that give players an insight into how the good faction works.
10 How To Unlock The Evil Fantasy Map
In contrast to the good faction's bright, welcoming kingdom, the evil faction's unlockable void is gloomy and unsettling. Once again, this map is hidden. It must be located on the Spooky one map. Beneath the bridge, there will be a cave. A crumbled crypt can be found down here, with a hole in the center. Ignoring the clawing shadows, players can venture downward to gain access to the land of the void.
Like the good faction, finding this map will unlock another 32 level campaign. This time, players will have to fight the evil faction and learn just how menacing they can be.
9 Devout Gauntlet And Shadow Walker
For 200 coins, players can grab either a Devout Gauntlet from the good faction or the Shadow Walkers from the evil faction. The Devout Gauntlet walks around with a crown, a fancy yellow mustache, and two brightly glowing gauntlet blades. They are pretty good within melee range against weaker groups but are easy to defeat from afar.
The Shadow walkers have less health than their Good Fantasy counterparts but are great for taking out ranged enemies. The shadow walker will teleport to the farthest enemy unit to start taking them down right away.
8 Celestial Aegis And Exiled Sentinel
A Celestial Aegis can be purchased for 300 coins. This butterfly-winged unit has a force field around itself, which is excellent for defending from ranged attacks. Within the force field, little floating orbs can be launched towards enemies, knocking them back quite a distance.

For the same price, players can purchase an Exiled Sentinel. This unit begins with two shields in their hands as they navigate across the battlefield towards their prey. Once closer, they will switch out these shields for two deadly axes instead. Who knows where they were storing them...
7 Radiant Glaive And Mad Mechanic
500 coins will allow a player to bring a Radiant Glaive into battle. This unit is dressed in gladiator gear, holding a handy shield and a throwing glaive that can pierce through its enemies. This unit best works within a group, as they can get quickly swarmed on their own.
Alternatively, 500 coins can purchase a Mad Mechanic. This goggle-wearing inventor is great for setting groups of enemies on fire with their flammable claws. This unit looks quite impressive, with a mysterious spiked ball hovering behind them, spewing out creepy tentacles.
6 Righteous Paladin And Void Cultist
The Righteous Paladin costs 800 coins. This hammer-wielding unit is slow but can take quite a few hits, as long as it isn't overwhelmed. The warrior can also summon a giant hammer from the sky to crush foes, which is handy for interrupting enemies preparing more powerful attacks.
On the other side, the Void Cultist swings a mace instead of a hammer. It also has a bit of magic, capable of materializing a circle of floating swords around an enemy. While the paladin knocks enemies back, the cultist is good for keeping foes in one place.
5 Divine Arbiter And Tempest Lich
The Divine Arbiter and Tempest Lich both cost 1000 coins. The Divine Arbiter carries around a book that will blast out homing beams of light towards foes. Once these beams stick to an enemy, a powerful ray from above will blast down on them. This ray of energy causes a lot of damage to anyone nearby as well (including allies).

The Tempest Lich is also mighty. It uses its staff to summon a storm cloud that will begin to strike lightning down at the Lich's enemies. Although these lightning bolts are powerful, the Lich itself is pretty feeble and needs to be protected.
4 Sacred Elephant And Death Bringer
For 2000 coins, players can get a Sacred Elephant. This heavily armored creature can take quite a lot of damage, charging into groups of enemies to stomp on them. Alongside this, the soldier riding the elephant has an unlimited supply of glowing spears to launch from afar.
The evil faction does not have an animal alternative. Instead, for 2000 coins, the Death Bringer will charge into battle. This unit is incredibly agile, capable of dodging ranged attacks. They are also highly skilled with their two deadly blades that will slice through enemies. Their blades leave a lovely trail of pink lines, which are a nice contrast to the spooky demon skull on their head.
3 Chronomancer And Void Monarch
The most expensive units in these two factions are the Chronomancer and the Void Monarch. They both cost 3000 coins but are worth the investment. The Chronomancer can control time. Enemies are frozen in the air for a few seconds when the Chronomancer hits them. Alongside this, the Chronomancer will eventually transform into its final form: A glorious winged angel that can hover in the air and fire powerful lasers. This transformation will also replenish the unit's health back to full, allowing for a second wind in battle.
The Void Monarch is the demonic alternative that runs around with two magical swords. Each swing of these swords has explosive results. The Void Monarch can teleport around, and just like the Chronomancer, regenerates their health back when they switch to their final form. This winged devil can now summon spikes out of the ground. Both of these units are incredibly fun to include in a battle, even if they might seem a little overpowered.
2 How To Unlock The Good Secret Unit
TABS has always been known for its secret units. Players must explore the various maps for hidden items that will unlock yet another unit to add to the battlefield. The Good Fantasy faction's map is no different. This time, players will need to look up to the skies. They can find a nearby floating island with a stained glass window. On top of it will be a little sun symbol. Staring at this symbol long enough (not advisable with the actual sun) will unlock the Solar Architect.
The Solar Architect is an angelic figure with a halo above their head. They cost 1200 coins and are wielding two wands. They are incredibly useful for healing allies and knocking back foes as they shoot out swirling vortexes of light.
1 How To Unlock The Evil Secret Unit
Not wanting to be outdone by the good faction, Evil Fantasy has its own secret unit to unlock. To find this combatant, players need to explore the Evil Fantasy map and look for the large statue of the winged Void Monarch wrapped in chains. Behind it, there will be a red and gold glowing whip.
Finding this secret item will unlock the Infernal Whip. This new character wields two flaming whips that are great for attacking from a distance. They will extend out to hit enemies while also setting the area on fire. With the Infernal Whip unlocked, players will have everyone they need to wage an epic battle between good and evil.
