Many people have begun integrating AI into their workflows in the office and at home. I use ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama, Jasper, Copilot, and many other AI-enabled software solutions, from CRM and marketing automation to design (Photoshop and Illustrator) and various line-of-business solutions. AI has become deeply integrated into our lives, and we have only scratched the surface of how AI can enable workers to achieve their full potential. The age of human-machine partnership in the workplace is emerging, which brings me to the point of this post! Ethan Mollick explores the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and human collaboration in his book “Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI.” Mollick, a professor at the The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Go Quakers!), is known for his research on innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in the context of new technologies. In this book, Mollick introduces the concept of "co-intelligence," where AI and humans work together synergistically, enhancing each other's strengths. He argues that AI should not merely be viewed as a tool for automation but as a partner that can amplify human creativity, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. The book provides numerous examples of how AI can be integrated into various aspects of life and work, from business strategies to personal productivity, highlighting the importance of AI in enabling more informed decision-making processes and driving innovation. Mollick also addresses the ethical implications of AI, such as privacy concerns, bias, and the potential displacement of human jobs, advocating for a balanced approach where AI is used to augment human skills rather than replace them. Looking toward the future, Mollick discusses the potential of AI to reshape industries and societies, urging individuals and organizations to embrace AI as a collaborative partner. Overall, “Co-Intelligence” is a forward-looking book that encourages readers to rethink the role of AI in their lives, emphasizing the value of collaboration and mutual enhancement between humans and machines. I highly recommend reading “Co-Intelligence”! 🌟🌟🌟🌟#ai #artificialintelligence #betterwithai #aienabled #digitaltransfotmation #futureofwork #upskilling #reskilling #strategy #humanresources #learninganddevelopment #landd #penn #upenn #wharton

Remember to take time to enjoy life. Tonight, I spent the evening at a Charley Crockett concert with my daughter, and it was priceless. Never miss the opportunity to spend time with the people who mean the most to you. Time is the only unreplenishable resource in life.

There is no denying that AI/GenAI is rapidly changing ways of working and operating models. Taking an ostrich approach/policy and ignoring the need to invest in your workforce and adapt to the changing business environment won't work, and waiting to respond to competitors' efforts will cost you in several ways. Every leader must develop a reskilling/upskilling strategy for their workforce regardless of industry. There is a great new article in Harvard Business Review by Jorge Tamayo,Leila Doumi,Sagar Goel,Orsolya Kovacs-Ondrejkovic,andRaffaella Sadun on this topic. In summary, over 70 reskilling experts gathered at Harvard Business School last October, agreeing that reskilling is now a strategic imperative. Surveys show that 56% of organizations are actively reskilling, integrating it with new talent strategies. Challenges still need to be addressed, particularly in management involvement and measuring impact. Key strategies include aligning business and talent goals, ensuring leadership commitment, adopting change-management approaches, creating attractive programs, fostering external partnerships, and rigorously measuring outcomes. These efforts are essential for addressing skill shortages and gaining a competitive edge in today's evolving work environment.I recommend reading the article in its entirety to get a fuller sense of why developing a reskilling strategy should be on every leader's 2024-2025 agenda. #talentdevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #learninganddevelopment #humanresources #clo #chieflearningofficer #humanresources #chro #ceo #leadership #futureofwork #longlifelearning #lifelonglearning #ai #artificialintellignce #aienabledwork #upskilling #reskilling #rekillingintheageofai https://lnkd.in/e8xcVdMm

"Long Life Learning" by Michelle R. Weise, PhD is a fascinating and timely read that really makes you rethink how we approach education and jobs. Weise's idea that we need to keep learning throughout our lives, rather than just during our school years, is spot on given the rapid and relentless pace of transformation driven by AI. Her suggestions for how educators, employers, and policymakers can support this shift are practical and actionable. If you're interested in how we can better prepare for the future job market, this book offers some great insights and a solid roadmap to get there. I highly recommend adding it to your summer reading list! 🌟🌟🌟🌟#lifelonglearning #thefutureofwork #learning #clo #education #adultlearning #neverstoplearning #bookreview

Yesterday, I had the great privilege of graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and Learning alongside some of the most amazing people I have had the honor of calling friends and colleagues. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Annie McKee, Dr. Raghu Krishnamoorthy and all of my Penn CLO classmates, especially my #NewLink cohort Megan Yoo Schneider, MS, PE (she/her), Matthias Schmidt, Brooklyn Raney, William D. Carter, III, Chakilla Robinson White for their support throughout this journey. #penngse #upenn #graduation #classof2024 #lifelonglearning

I just finished re-reading "Think Again" by Adam Grant. It's a fantastic book, particularly apt in this contentious season in America. Grant's emphasis on mental flexibility is not just a theoretical concept but a practical tool that can empower you to rethink assumptions and be open to new ideas. In summary, Grant advocates for not falling in love with your ideas, embracing and encouraging dialogic engagement in personal and professional settings, and arguing like you're right but listening like you're wrong. If you haven't read "Think Again," I highly recommend it! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
