📣 Interested in food systems transformation? You can learn how this is accomplished through agroecology's socioecological approach in these two courses offered by IfA affiliates. Classes start next week, so reserve your spot now! They are virtual synchronous, so tune in from anywhere around the world. Check out the full suite of agroecology courses and the certificate program here: https://lnkd.in/ezvTdY9d"Agroecology, Food Sovereignty & Social Movements" taught by Nils McCune, investigates social, political, and economic elements of the global food system from multiple perspectives, considering the ability to scale-up agroecology, and the potential intersection between agroecology, food sovereignty and government policies."Ecological foundations of agroecology" taught by Katie Horner, reviews fundamental ecological principles and processes and how they relate to food production practices; while the focus of the course is primarily on the biophysical dimensions of ecology, you will also attend to how social factors mediate agroecosystems.

Some new work here on shifting finance away from industrial agriculture and to "make money move for agroecology" - how can we know if (and to what extent) a project, initiative or program will contribute towards transitions towards agroecology? Check out this new article that I helped to pull together that describes work to develop a tool for measuring "agroecologicalness"For me it stems from work with Nina Isabella Moeller, Faris Ahmed and Francois Devlaux on financing/resourcing agroecology that we started when I was at the with CIDSE (https://lnkd.in/ewBsnBt6) which fed into this wider process in the Agroecology Coalition.
