I hope they don't. Before Jim Harbaugh, Michigan was pretty "not good" for a while. Alabama would like to forget most of the 00s decade. Texas had a rough 2010s.

Good teams can have rough stretches in real life, and I hope they put *THAT* in the game.

And both Harbaugh and Saban are gone too so...TBD if they will maintain their excellence.

I do hope that coaches play a big part in that. If a lower tier school has an A level coach and he sticks around for a while, I hope to see that team develop into a solid school where once that HC, that original school becomes a destination school for the next up and coming coach

If you're looking for games not made for kids they categorize these things. They aren't the prime target audience here but they are part of the next generation of consumers and them playing the games just like you or I might have as kids is important. The game is rated E for everyone which means I plan on teaching my 10 year old some life lessons when this thing comes out EA Sports College Football 25 Gameplay Deep Dive - Page 45 (36). I don't think that's why they included them in the game though and it's probably limited to certain traits you can assign.

As for the second part I don't think they should jack up the fumble rate but I would like to see teams maybe play more conservatively in the rain.

I think for me at the end of the day I just want fun gameplay. It doesn't have to be perfect nor does it have to be sim. My favorite baseball game the past few years has been Super Mega Baseball. I have theories about "sim" in video games but I'll save that rant for another day. I can't think of many sports video games except for text sims like OOTP where you don't have to create your own house rules to balance the game if you're trying to have a sim experience. Whether it be recruiting, not abusing the read option in the last NCAA game, only motioning defenders within the preset motion options (no nano blitzing), etc. If they made these games a real simulation the sales would stink. I do think it's fair to expect and ask for the sliders to actually work though. That way if you want 20 penalties a game you can get it without impacting the avg. person's experience.

This right here. Just give me the immersion (presentation I am talking to you) and authenticity and the “tools” and toggles and sliders I need to “customize” the game to my taste.

2K and The Show do this really well NHL 19 did this. Madden 16 and 21 did this well to a degree.

CFB 25 by everything I am reading is going to do this. The game will be fun but authentic and have varying degrees of difficulty and options to customize your experience.

I can’t wait!!!

Obviously nothing is final and it could just very well be for the sake of showcasing the feature, but, I just hope there’s true 2-way capability in the game. Maybe a new position for “ATH” that you can assign and it lets you put players on both sides of the ball while being able to access both sets of abilities. If not, as long as they went back to letting you play a player anywhere that would be dope too lol

I mentioned that before, especially for Hunter. Those abilities are mainly WR abilities. Layout and 50/50 can definitely be beneficial on defense, but isn't designated defensive abilities. But, you can say the Layout could be closely related to the Acrobat ability in Madden. But for Hunter, the Recoup ability is what is going to allow him to play both ways. It just would've been nice to Hunter have a coverage ability to showcase that he's a two-way player. If he has Platinum Sure Hands, that means he has a high catch rating. So, I would've not gave him that ability since the rating is high enough anyway and gave him a coverage ability instead.

If we want to have a Two-Way player, I think it'll be important for that player to have a high toughness rating, Platinum Recoup ability, and likely another ability that has Wear and Tear Protection

Mills said in the stream, auto-subs work and not every team is default 60/80 like Madden. Auto-subs are tied to the coach based on how they ran their rotations the last few years.

Where did you hear this? That would be awesome! It drives me crazy when there are never any subs in Madden.

He mentioned it on his twitch livestream Friday, it was a long one but should be in his archives.

Hurdles happen pretty frequently these days in college. I'm glad to see they are hopefully making them more viable and not an instant fumble like Madden has.

A failed hurdle should result in more wear and tear on a player with an increased fumble chance, but it shouldn't guarantee something bad to happen.

Regarding rain and fumbles. I hope no arbitrary limits are put into place. It would be silly if the game just stops any further fumbles from happening because a set amount have already happened. Niche games tend to have more of a hardcore following. CFB is a niche. It's entertaining seeing the amount of people acting like Madden is in trouble because of this game, though.

Players leaping over defenders is rare IRL. It should be rare in the game.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned with all his abilities being WR abilities. It makes me feel like they put him in as WR only, and didn't figure out the 2 way thing. If that's the case, Travis should 100% be in as a CB, considering he is a top 3 player at that position, and is absolutely going to be playing CB in the NFL. He almost certainly won't be a WR in the NFL, because while he is a good receiver, he excels as a corner.
