4x4 Off-Road Parts & Accessories (2024)

Just because your truck or SUV has 4-wheel drive doesn't mean you're ready to conquer any and all terrain in the great outdoors. With a few notable exceptions like the Ford Raptor, Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, and Chevy Colorado ZR2, most factory 4x4s, even the ones with the manufacturer's “off road” package, aren't really off-road ready. And even the above mentioned rigs may not be properly set up for the type of off-roading you like to do – rock crawling for example. But no matter whether your off-road dreams lean towards racing Baja, mastering the rocks at Moab, or overcoming obstacles on the Rubicon trail, we have the off-road parts & 4x4 accessories to make your rig ready to triumph over any terrain.

Off-road readiness starts with traction. While 4x4s usually come with all-terrain tires, they may be street oriented for quietness because automakers know most 4x4s rarely leave the pavement. We have off-road tires with tread patterns ideally suited to many surfaces including hard packed dirt trails, fine sand, rocks, and deep mud in all popular large diameter sizes. Many have lugs that extend up the sidewall for even greater traction and more plies in the sidewall so they can be aired down for more bite off-road. The best way to get these tires is to order them mounted on a set of our custom wheels so they arrive at your door ready to install, and because every off-road enthusiast knows your rig has to look as good as it goes. We have wheels in a multitude of aggressive styles, diameters and offsets.

When running larger tires, you should re-gear to keep the engine in its ideal rpm range so you have the torque you need for powering over obstacles and to prevent straining the drivetrain, and we have the higher (numerically) ratio ring & pinion sets for the job. While you're at you can make sure the wheels with traction always get the power with limited slip or locking differentials. Other factory drivetrain parts may not be up to handling off-road abuse. Upgrade to make sure you don't get stranded with parts from our performance driveline & axles section. We have all the heavy-duty pieces including driveshafts, U-joints, transfer case parts, axle shafts, bearings, complete axle assemblies, differential covers, and 4WD actuators, as well as C-clip eliminator kits to prevent losing an axle.

However, even though you may have the bite, your rig's not going anywhere unless you can clear those boulders and tree stumps. If you only tackle easy trails and only need clearance for big tires a body lift will do the job, but if you want ground clearance and greater wheel articulation for off-roading a suspension lift is the way to go. We have complete kits in a range of lift heights as well as springs, shocks, coilovers, torsion bar keys, and economical spacers, all designed to give your machine greater ride height. Keep in mind that with extreme lift heights, depending on the vehicle and suspension design, other modifications we carry like a slip yoke eliminator, longer control arms, a drop pitman arm and adjustable track bar may be necessary to obtain proper wheel alignment, steering and handling.

The highest lift kit available won't allow you to completely clear every obstacle, so to make sure you don't get stranded and faced with expensive repairs because of a hole in an oil pan or gas tank or serious damage to a transmission or transfer case, you need our skid plates. Our off-road bumpers provide protection and rugged good looks, and many come with mounts for a winch, off-road lights and D-rings, and have built-in bull bars, grille guards and stingers, as well as the angled corners you need to negotiate steep approach angles. We also have rocker bars to keep rocks from digging into your vulnerable sheet metal rocker panels, which can stop your rig cold in its tracks and cause unsightly damage. And our body armor and light guards stand ready to shield exposed body panels and lights.

No off-roader is complete without LED light bars and auxiliary lights to light up the trail ahead. We have combo lights with spot and flood beams in a wide range of sizes as well as custom light mounts and brackets created for specific applications. You can also upgrade your 4x4's appearance at the same time with a rugged LED grille. And our LED rock lights can illuminate the trail surface for safer wheeling and some can also be used to create custom multi-color lighting effects. More torque will allow your rig to power over obstacles and you can get it with our performance parts including cat-back exhaust systems, air intake systems, and performance chips and programmers, all designed to unleash the power hidden in your 4x4's engine.

Of course, no matter how well you've outfitted your rig, sooner or later Mother Nature will win the battle and you'll get stuck, or you're going to have to help a buddy that's stuck. The only thing you can do is be prepared for the eventuality and we've got the gear you need. On our virtual store shelves you'll find dependable electric and hydraulic winches in a range of pull ratings; winch mounts, including portable cradles that attach to a receiver hitch; winch accessories like hawse and roller fairleads; and the necessary related recovery gear including straps, chains, trunk protectors, snatch blocks, winch line dampers, and D-ring shackles. Complete recovery kits include the recovery gear detailed above as well as a set of heavy-duty gloves to protect your hands, all in a convenient carrying bag.

Most off-road enthusiasts also use their 4x4 for daily transportation. Floor liners that can be hosed off and easy on/off seat covers will make sure your cabin is clean for commuting during the week. We also offer many ways to personalize your driving space including a shift knob, pedal covers, and bright interior trim. Along with the man upgrades we have for your 4x4, we can also help you maintain it and save money in the process. We carry a full line of regular replacement items like wiper blades, bulbs, air filters, spark plugs, and fluids, and they're just a phone call away, ready for delivery right to your door. Finally, if you're unsure what to do with your 4x4 or what products to use, check out the 4x4 trucks and SUVs in our inspiration gallery and what other customers are saying on our reviews page.

What suspension is best for offroading? ›

Because of the solid housing, solid axle suspension is more durable than independent suspension, especially for off-road vehicles that travel over rocks and other obstacles. The durability aspect means solid axle suspension is generally considered the better option for dedicated off-road driving.
