Spent Christmas here, the grounds and the views are beautiful, although you aren't actually staying on the estate if you are in the cottages and are about a 10 minute drive from most of the facilities including breakfast, but they are always very prompt for pick ups.Food there was outstanding and some of the best we had on our trip. Overall a great stay.

Awesome family outing, the food at the deli was great. The tree house playground is so much fun and the children thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour survival skills experience. Picked up some lovely food at the farm shop and butchery.

Amazing place! We stayed at the newly renovated retreat cottages. The place is within beautiful nature and the staff went above and beyond for us to have a great time.We loved the biking trails, the farm tour, the night marked, the Picknick and the snacks at the farm shop. Additionally the owners seem to be interested in sustainable solutions for the environment and their employees.Big recommendation to go there!

This place is simply incredible! Worth trying out the deli restaurant and their pic nic. Spend at least 2 nights in this beautiful place!

Beautiful place. Good wines. Very nice play area. But, time to step up your game and offer vegan options. There are barely any dairy free options. Simply add vegan cheese to your pizzas. So easy! The friday night markets are fun for the family but very slow service. Poorly managed. Such a shame

Amazing attention to detail and 1st class service from all the staff. Food was absolutely amazing for all meals and the amount of activities blew my mind. Want to say a great thanks to the staff at the Werf restaurant for making our breakfast experience wonderful. The accommodation at the orchards was also great. Also enjoyed the wine tasting.

This was a true gem. We attended the night market and everything was so festive.The wine tasting could have been better, but it did not detract from the whole experience.This a good place to visit if you have children.

Went to Friday Night Market. Veh chill and nice for relaxing. The market is focused on food and picnic approach with bean bags and cloths for rent to chill under the trees, drink some wine, eat some food from the stalls and listen to cool, live music. Great for all ages and a really restful ace to visit after a busy week.

We had a lovely stay here. We really enjoyed the picnic, nightmarket and wine tasting. Food was all really delicious. We stayed in one of the cottages which was so idyllic. The estate was all so beautiful and made for a very relaxing stay.

The cottages are beautiful and good value for money. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved the little extras in our cottage and breakfast was absolutely delicious.

The welcome and first night stay was lovely. We were happy with the Wertz cottage.Unfortunately, on day two we found a big mouse rotten in our cottage and then we were given a downgraded cottage. The rest of the evening experience and room service took away from our family Christmas and birthday experience.The management gave us 20% off but in our view, it was only because we asked for it and it only covers the difference in the downgraded room. Essentially our day two experience and only chance to relax wasn’t the same in the evening and we were all quite upset about it.We understand it’s a busy time of year but a well known estate and business should have the right guest experience services in place to care for their international guests.We’re a family that work in tourism and hospitality and have experienced and enjoyed luxury to basic accommodation. We were disappointed that there was nothing more offered to make up for this experience after traveling far for it.Research which cottage you’re booking as the Orchids were nothing special compared to Wertz.Definitely consider a day visit if not a full night stay. Nice tree house for kids, kid activity options, and wine tasting and food service. Overall, it’s beautiful. Personally, I don’t think a rotten should be found in the room after it’s been cleaned by room service.The gentlemen at the welcoming is super lovely.Food, lifestyle & food market are super nice and convenient.

What an amazing experience. The retreat villas were fantastic, amazing views all around and farm fresh food every day. The value you get as an American with USD is incredible. The staff is all kind and accommodating of your every need. I can't wait to come back and bring more family and friends with me.

Great day out for lunch! Good value as far as wine farms go, and great tasting food! The wine is also delicious.The shops are awesome; we bought some grass fed beef ribeye steaks and a few bottles of wine to take home.

We went to South Africa for our 25th anniversary and were lucky enough to stay at Boschendal for the night of our anniversary. We stayed in the Retreat Cottages and it was delightful, the view of the cannas and the mountains in the distance is absolutely stunning. The gardens are beautiful, and the breakfast area was fabulous.The team at reception very kindly gave us a bottle of wine on arrival and another bottle of MCC as it was our anniversary. The women on reception were just lovely! And we enjoyed them in front of the fire!

Wonderful!A dream winery with great wines. We did a wine tasting (white wine) here at the end of March 2023. The location in the courtyard under the trees and the wines were wonderful. We were served competently and provided with brief concise information about the wines. The entire grounds are beautifully landscaped with fountains, a vegetable garden and farm stores to browse. All in all, a great experience.

Ja it wasn't my idea but my family wanted to go we went for the day. Must admit I really enjoyed it and the wine was great and cheap..

Amazing museum filled with so much automobile history. Did not expect to find the collection of cars that they have here.Make sure to book beforehand just to avoid some delays at the gate.

Lovely setting, amazing cars and motorbikes on display, just a short drive from Cape Town. I do wish you could get around the cars, though, the way it is laid out means you can only see about half of each car because you can only approach from one angle. It would be nice if they were either individually roped off or parked slightly away from the wall, so you could get around them completely for a 360 degree look.

Beautiful cars , very well run and clean with well kept grounds , beautiful wines and food , lovely day out for couples or families , remember to book first but well worth it if you do. If you enjoy motorsports , history or cars in general this venue has it all.

The array of sparkling vintage cars is impressive - combined with the informative information, history of each vintage vehicle and video showreels. This was a time warp experience to delight the eye's, excite the the senses and invigorate the imagination.If you're a car enthusiast or just want to enjoy the rich experience of yesteryear vehicles and vintage bikes- this is the absolute place to visit.

Fabulous motor museum. Well managed with an amazing collection of beautiful vehicles and motorcycles. The staff were professional and a credit to the owner. My dream car was there and will stay in my memory forever. Visits are by appointment only so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Awesome cars. Some very old cars and some very modern cars. 4 big show rooms that is well air-conditioned in the very hot part of the Franschoek Valley. They, from time to time, offer a free wine tasting as you enter the reception area. Viewing by appointment but if there is space you could just arrive and go in. Recommend you make a appointment.

This was a lovely experience seeing cars from all times in 4 huge rooms. You need to buy your entrance admission in advance, which we quickly did on our phones. I have so many photos, more than I've posted here! If you love older cars, this is a must to see.

I really enjoyed this place. The museum has an amazing car collection. The lineup of restored cars take you on a journey through history, and if you pay a bit extra you can be taken on a ride in one of them. Last but not least, you can catch the complementary bus ride to their wine farm next door and enjoy a glass or 4.

Absolutely magnificent collection. The cars change every couple of months, so it's worth going onto the website to check what the current collection is. You need to phone ahead and make a booking. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to enter the Estate.

Oh boy . If you are a petrol head and happen to be anywhere around, stop by the museum. Collection is just breathtaking. Bear in mind, cars shown are only a fraction of what the museum has, and all most vehicles are in pristine and working condition (they have 7 full time mechanics working on site) . Ask the very friendly guides and will tell you more about it. Mustang all eras, early bentleys, very first Ford Ts, BMW hangar .

When in the Cape or Cape Province, and you have the time to go to the Franschoek and make a point to visit this gem. For any car enthusiast, this place is remarkable and a must visit. The chances that you will see the same car within 6 months is very slim due to the amount of changes they make and rotating the cars on a regular basis.

Great place to checkout if your a petrol head ,lots of special cars housed in air-conditioned rooms , entry was reasonable at 80 rand a person aswell they have a nice little coffee shop that made a great sandwich , pro tip we went during the week it was quite we had the place to ourselves remember to phone and book

A great two hour experience. We had a cheese and wine paring for the taste experience. The cheese is extremely good, especially the goat cheese. The wine is also commendable. We enjoyed the becon Shiraz the most. The setting of the wine tasting is inside. International tourist should put this place on their top 10 in the area.

I am not a wine drinker but I do love cheese. Took my boyfriend here so he could do the wine tasting and I could enjoy their handmade cheeses. They have a little shop where you are able to buy all their produce too. We tasted the pinotage compote which was delicious, so took a bottle home along with some of their goats cheese. It’s also nice to walk around their little garden.

An excellent place to visit, you can enjoy breakfast from 09H00 - 11H15 and thereafter other delicious tasty food from their menu. A must visit is their cheese tasting area, where you can taste the different goats cheeses. Don't forget to visit their wine tasting room as well. They have an excellent selection of wines. Will come back here for another visit soon.

Very cozy place with a garden (we found funny with unique shape lemons here). In addition to goats, there are many squirrel 🐿. There is a shop with a large selection of cheeses and other things here.This winery is famous for its Shiraz. I liked Fairview Pinotage most of all.A small minus is that the wine tasting takes place standing. But the cost for a tasting of 7 wines with a plate of cheeses is only 50 rand.

Highly recommend. The ambience is very cozy and the staff is excellent. A good variety of different vines. The reds are to try. They also sells cooling bags to maintain the wine at the right temperature. They pair every wine with a different type of cheese from the farm, the cheese also are exquisite. I really liked the wine farm. The restaurant cooks delicious food and R200 is enough for one person to eat 👍🏼 the wine is also very tasty and the wine testing is very interesting (together with goat cheese) only R60. Amazing wine farm - we really enjoyed the master tasting. Afterwards we bought some of their amazing wines and cheese 🧀🍷 and fresh bread 🍞 and enjoyed lunch at their restaurant where 2 little 🐿 were running around which was just too cute to see. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Excellent Wine Estate 🍷 and Restaurant. Great for lunch. The menu is so diverse. Staff handles crowds well. The goats are cute. Gardens magnificent. I love the variety of cheeses and breads. I have been going there since 1993 with my guests. Bookings are essential because it is,always busy. Toilets are clean. I don't drink wine, but they say it's excellent. Wine tasting is enjoyed by my guests regularly. The history is impressive.

A lovely setting, with tastings suitable for every age and taste, including children and non-drinkers. The deli is always a delight and the whole experience is very accessible - you do not need to be a sommelier to enjoy Fairview.

Fairview an easy place to like. It has something different from other local restaurants and on this occasion the food was lovely and enjoyed a couple of local beers. If you're on your way to Franschhoek and have the time, take this mountain pass to town. The road is gorgeous and not difficult to drive. You will be rewarded with beautiful panoramas of rocks, mountains, ravines and more. If you're so inclined, you can also hike a trail that is easy to find. The entrance to Franschhoek from the pass is very dramatic. Stop for a few minutes and take a few pix!

Beautiful views as you drive through the road. A lot of stops along the way to take pictures.

One of my favorite place in Cape Winelands. One can never fault this scenic spot. Please vist and take the litter with you or put it in the clearly demarcated bin.

Such a beautiful Pass to drive. The R 45 take you to Franschhoek. Always something new to see.

This is a beautiful drive that one should definitely do on a sunny day to be able to appreciate its beauty to the fullest! I would recommend driving with caution as there are many turns, trucks and an occasional cyclist on the road.

Having not driven the Franschhoek Pass in a long time I immediately grabbed the opportunity when it came up. The pass is about 13 km (give or take) and is slow and winding. Although the driver needs to focus a lot on this route, there are some areas where you can pull over and take in the beautiful views which make it worthwhile. On the one side of the pass you have the town of Franschhoek with the pass looking over it in certain sections, and on the other side you have Theewaterskloof dam which is the largest dam providing water to the City of Cape Town and surrounds. The pass can get very busy and has been closed on numerous occasions in the past because of rock slides, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. Also, something to note is that during winter when it is really cold, the surrounding mountains can be covered in snow which is always special to see.

The views are stunning. We drove the pass yesterday. It was very misty.

Road closures - we couldn't get through to Franschhoek. First had to detour from Villiersdorp then had another road closure and had to go to Grabouw via R321. Still had a beautiful scenic route though!!

The best mountain pass in South Africa. Heaven on earth for keen drivers, but beware the treacherous drops and steep turns. Rather take it slowly and enjoy the spectacular views. There are many excellent viewpoints to stop at along the route. Superbly smooth surface and in excellent condition.

Wir waren zum Sonnenuntergang oben und konnten eine herrliche Aussicht genießen. I was very keen to see experience Saronsberg and was sorely disappointed. I felt like I needed to drink just to get through the experience. The cheese platter was served like aeroplane food with a wooden (not even wood though) knife which was ridiculous to try use. I enjoyed watching my mate try slice the cheese which was even more entertaining than the three of us trying to fit at what looked like a Barbie table. The menu, or lack thereof, left a lot to be desired. I left a monetary tip when we left but the best tip I could possibly give them is to improve the experience.

What a fantastic Sunday experience only open till 1 pm, however, we were lucky as they were packing up a big party, so we were welcomed to relax in their beautiful gardens, with sublime views and tranquility. Our waitress Hero-lene was a star! We were thrilled about her info on the great wines & her service was simply excellent. It's doggy friendly so my pooch had an awesome adventure too. Thank you Hero-lene for your extra special service & care!

Lovely wine tasting experience. You can sit outside with a beautiful view over a dam and a big lawn with trees. Really relaxing to do a wine tasting and just take in the view. The cheese platter is also very good and we really enjoyed the little spread (I think it was green chilli) that came with it.

Lovely 3 star accommodation featuring self catering units. Modern, homely, functional and clean. Wonderful braai room and pool facility. Great wines. Rooms have air con but those don’t work during load shedding.

The cottage is well equipped and comfortable! The view is awesome!

On entering the estate you immediately feel transported to another world, with statues of art that welcome you into its realm of fantasy. Inside the winery boasts a whole gallery for the sophisticated connoisseur and a wide variety of wines to enjoy. If you want a table, you should book in advance, however there is lovely lush green grass to enjoy and don't forget your foto with the lady at the lake.

This is by far the most popular wine Cellar in the valley. We enjoyed a wine tasting and a cheese platter under the large oak trees on the lawn. The setting is beautiful. Art installations inside and outside compliment the exquisite setting. Wine = outstanding. It gets busy so either book a space or get there early. Don’t leave without a bottle of Olive Oil in your bag.

A gorgeously done modern design venue that still felt at home in a natural setting surrounded by rolling lawns, ponds and overlooking the Tulbagh mountains. There was art on display inside. The wine tasting was efficiently conducted with some incredible wines on offer, the range being themed around the earthquake that took place here decades ago. Small cheese platters and nibbles are available. Would definitely recommend!

We had the privilege of celebrating my son's wedding at Saronsberg last weekend and it was a truly enchanting experience. The setting is breathtaking, creating a magical ambiance that added to overall charm. The service we received from Marguerite and Celeste and the rest of the staff was excellent and attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. The food surpassed expectations, truly amazing in both presentation and taste. All in all, a classy and elegant celebration that left a lasting impression!

Went here with a friend who had complimentary tickets for wine tasting and lunch. It was easy to get here using Google maps. From the moment we went in the staff was very sweet and friendly they smiled throughout and spoke to us in a way that made us feel like important guests 😊 Roger took us around and explained the wine process and history of the family legacy in a very calm and understandable way.We then were presented with a list of options to choose from (wine pairing) we did and the staff went above and beyond to give us more than we asked for haha!Moving on to lunch the food was divine, compliments to the chef! After that we were still served desert, more drinks Daryll didn't want us to leave I suspect with his outstanding hospitality 😍Lastly the view!!! The place is very beautiful, a must see💜

This is a hidden gem of note. The wine tastings provide for different or a variety of taste bud's. The staff is knowlegable, friendly and acoomodating to requests. The setting offers something for everyone with a relaxing atmosphere.

Wonderful and historic wine estate. We did the 7.5km eco trail which was beautiful although very challenging shale terrain on the 330m-odd climb. Start early as the heat is unforgiving very quickly so also take plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat - there's little that passes for shade on those slopes.But the work is worth it. The views are breathtaking and take in the splendour of the Robertson valley.We had to double back at just after halfway as my wife's shoes weren't up a sharp descent which would be fine with decent footwear.The shady avenue under eucalyptus trees near the Breede River brings welcome respite from the heat of the day.Of course, after ones labours are done there's always a credit card burn in the tasting room. In the evening you will appreciate sipping your purchases because you will have added your sweat to the terroir.

The setting amongst trees and jungle type greenery is very unique and beautiful. The staff were friendly and proactive (despite it being busy). The food we had for lunch was delicious, particularly the steak. Prices were also decent.

We've been wanting to experience the Van Loveren Estate for a few years now, but, as they, there is no right time. Today, however, as we arrived at the welcoming gardens and entered the grandeur arrival hall, was just right in every aspect of what we hoped to see. After agreeing to have her photo taken, Florentina graciously took us through the Wine and cheese pairing experience. Recently appointed at front-of-house and spending her entire life on the farm, she has soooo much passion to offer and we enjoyed every bit of the wines on offer and her continous flow of energy and knowledge.We subsequently stayed for a small lunch at Christina's Bistro, which was just as a surprise. The beautifully manicured gardens and embedded family history can be felt is every breath of the cooling breeze through those age-old trees.A highly-recommended wine tasting and Bistro experience in the Langeberg region.

Beautiful gardens, a real paradise! Food was fast prepared and tasted great and the waiters are very friendly. It is good for the soal to sit and relax in this wonderful garden and listening to the birds. There are also a wide variety of wines to buy as well as goodies in the curio shop.

Great spot for a wine tasting or buy some wine. I’m guessing a big name around these parts, as there are many signs with their name on them around.I bought three bottles at random and all three were excellent, surprisingly excellent in some cases!Looking back I would’ve liked a tasting, there just wasn’t time. Staff was pretty helpful considering me just walking in and grabbing three bottles.

What a lovely wine farm. The gardens are amazing. Love the story behind each tree that was planted for a special event. A piece of wilderness just off the N2. Camping and cabins with spotlessly clean ablutions, washing machines and cooking facilities. We camped off grid right by the river but there are also on grid sites too. We did a couple of lovely walks and a game drive which included zebra, bontebok, grysbok and Denham’s bustard. We swam in the river and you can also find places to fish. Marloth nature reserve and it’s beautiful waterfall hikes are close by as is Swellendam and it’s historical museums. Two nights wasn’t enough.

Camped here for new years. Great facilities and plots, just a pity the river sites were unavailable after some recent flooding. Several decent running/walking routes around the park where we saw bontebok, red hartebeest and zebra, but it was the sand fleas that got our legs proper.

Bontebok is a lovely reserve. We did not see all that many animals, but plenty of plant and birdlife. A good way to spend a few hours if you are visiting Swellendam.

Absolutely beautiful place. We went as day visitors and enjoyed every moment. Next time I want to go for a weekend and do all the activities like hiking and mountain biking.

I have been fortunate enough to have visited quite a few of the national parks in South Africa, and although I've driven past the Bontebok National Park on numerous occasions I have only recently visit it for the first time. I can honestly say that taking so long to visit them was a big mistake on my part. This national park is truly a hidden gem and as it is only 2.5hours away from Cape Town it should be something on your to do list. As you arrive at the reception area you already get a glimpse of what the park has to offer. The beautiful building blends in well with its surroundings and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The park also has a a picnic site where you can go and relax, with a children's play area and "braai" (BBQ) facilities, but unfortunately there isn't a shop available for you to buy snacks etc. Except for the beautiful fauna and flora, the Lang Elsie's Kraal Rest Camp (reviewed separately) is probably the main attraction with clean, modern facilities and different accommodation types available. I was also happy to see that the staff at the rest camp were just as friendly as their peers at the reception area. There are a couple of routes available for you to go on self-drive game drives with most of the roads easily traversable in a standard sedan or hatchback, and there are even a couple of hiking trails. While we visited we saw numerous different animals, including different antelope species such as Bontebok which the park is named after. Some of the Bontebok even came into the camp which was very special. We had a great time staying here and will definitely make a plan to visit again in the future. One important thing to note if you plan on visiting: When you use Google Maps to drive to the park, rather set your location as "Bontebok National Park Reception" as going to the park's actual location takes you through farm lands and to an area from where you can't actually enter the park.

Nice Park with opportunities to go for walks or mountain bike rides unaccompanied as there are no dangerous predators around. Also, a great day visitor area on the Breede River and an area where you can fish in the river. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, there is not much game, or they are hiding away extremely well. In the whole Bontebok Park on the day of our visit we saw a total of 3 Bontebok. The most common animal we saw was Mountain Zebra.

Great place to stay, in both chalets or camping. Ablution facilities are clean and quite modern. Great birdlife and frequent sightings of Bontebok.Always enjoy our stay here.

Was at Bontebok Park 32 years ago - quick visit again on Sunday 14 April 2024 - ideal place to come and relax from city life - no car noise, only the sounds of animal life!

This beautiful place is yet undiscovered I think. Our first time here and really happy we decided to do a detour. Stayed only 2 days, but wished it was more.... The campsites are huge, covered with flowers and magestic flowering aloes. Amazing walking trails. Bontebok roaming in camp. Another huge list of new birds added to our list included the Fish eagle! We will be back for sure!!

It’s a nice small National Park. We did a small hike (loop) and the self game drive. You can see some Red Hartebeest and we saw 2 or 3 Bonteboks (seems they aren’t easy to spot). Quite some tortoises. Enjoyed the views.

A hidden gem to rest and enjoy the nature. The cabins are in a quiet area with amazing views.

The best campsites are next to the river, unfortunately they are still repairing flood damages .. We slept at the top campsites with electricity but no view, though countless animals did wonder through the campsites.I like this place, will see me very often l.

The museum has preserved the History of the settlers, it's Raw and Authentic,very great to experience and educational.

Museum spread over 3 plots. Visit the magistrate's house / courthouse with Victorian furnishings, the jail (2nd oldest in SA) with tradesman displays and the Mayville home and gardens. One (small) entrance fee for all 3. Well worth a walk-around.

Interesting museum showing how things were done by hand in the past. Has a working wheat mill. Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Several small shops at the entrance that sell fresh local produce, jams and memorabilia. Several restaurants next door and across the street.

The museum consists of three sites, all within walking distance from each other. One is supposed to start and pay (R30.00 pp) at the Drostdy, but we began at the Mayville House. The kitchen was fascinating, but I liked the small exhibition on Maria Elizabeth Rothmann and the exquisite garden the most. The paintings and furniture in the Drostdy are lovely. The prison was a treat (although the Khoisan exhibition is quite dated and looks tired) - I loved the yard at the back containing the different workshops. There are some really interesting tidbits about Swellendam's history - this museum definitely surpasses most town museums. An enjoyable experience.

Such a beautiful museum that is wonderfully kept up. Walking through from room to room, you really get a sense of how the people lived back then. Also, such friendly staff who were more than happy to answer questions about some of the pieces. I only explored the one building (which is free), but you can buy a ticket which costs R40 to view all three buildings that are part of the museum. Will definitely go back again to view the other two.

Divine experience incredible and magical. Highly recommend. Exquisite all inclusive. From the service to the food and lodging and very highly skilled and trained game rangers. I could have stayed here for days. Also shout out to my game ranger Jordan who took my mother and I on a spectacular journey. A timeless adventure that will never be forgotten.

Everything about Sanbona was incredible and worth every penny. Ethan was an amazing guide and we saw a cheetah eating its prey, white lions, so many giraffes, buffalos, elephants, and so many other animals. The food was also delicious and had an amazing variety. Wait staff was also lovely, kind, and considerate. The tents were AMAZING, you truly felt transported to another place. 10/10 would recommend this experience to anyone.

What an amazing experience! We had 4 safari tours during two days. Everyone was very friendly and flexible. The ranger was a real professional, passionate and very motivated to make our safari to the best things we experienced in our life. We had the chance to see lions, rhinos, cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras and other interesting animals, birds, reptiles. Highlight of our trip to Western Cape. We stayed at the Dwyka Lodges, and literally everything was great. (1) We saw, from very up close, Elephants, Rhinos, giraffes, cheetahs and white lions. The ranger (Ethan) put a lot of effort to make sure we had a good trip. (2) the rooms were spectacular. (3) the service was perfect (4) and even the food excelled our expectations. 100% recommended to anyone that wants a safari-like experience but close to Cape Town.

We had a wonderful time at Sanbona. We saw 4 of the big 5 and many more animals. The people at Sanbona were very kind and the service great. We can absolutely recommend it and would love to come back soon.

We had an amazing 2 nights stay at Sanbona! Very nice rooms with a great out door shower.The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was nice and had a big variaty of food.The spa was also really nice and we enjoyed 2 massages there.On the safari drives we saw a lot of different animals, and different areas. Sometimes it took longer to find the animals, but that‘s just nature and the effect of such a big reserve.Just be prepared to drive a long while, as the reserve is really huge. Also; wear warm clothes in the morning (pullover with hoodie & sunglasses for the wind are recommended).

Accommodations was good. Food was alright. We had a swimming pool but was not heated & cold. The guide casper was great. The only issue was a few animals & had to drive for long time to see the animals. Sometimes we did not see any of of the animals also u saw them at a distance away. Its a ok safari . I think its a little pricey reserve.

A 5-star experience for game watching on a fantastic location in the middle of nature. Our ranger Claudia brought us to places very close to the animals and passionately informed us about wildlife. The staff in the lodge (we stayed in Gondwana) were very friendly and helpful and every other evening a delicious BBQ buffet around the camp fire. The rooms are very spacious, with an amazing view, very clean. Thank You to the whole team for giving us this unforgettable experience!!

We visited Sanbona as part of our honeymoon. Left a piece of my heart in Sanbona.We didn't know what to expect, having booked through a travel agent rather than directly. We were blown away by the welcome at Dwyka Lodge, little touches of hospitality throughout, variety and quality of the food somewhere so remote, the attentiveness of the staff and pride they all took in making the experience as lovely as possible. Our room was amazing and I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it! Jordan was our guide and his encyclopedic knowledge and warmth made the experience for us. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Well here and didn’t want to leave. We got so lucky to have Ben as our private safari driver. He took us out on four different safari drives and focused on seeing the animals that we wanted to see the most. I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about my stay. They really do go out of their way to make sure that everything is perfect. Our room was beautiful and fully stocked. I was able to get the most amazing massage during my stay. And the food was amazing.

Amazing experience! All the staff were friendly: lodge staff, private transfer drivers and safari guides. The other resort guests were even friendly. The room at Dwyka was amazing and the food was phenomenal. The staff went out of their way to make our honeymoon even better by leaving us a honeymoon package while we were away on our first safari. They did everything possible to make you feel welcome. The safari drives were amazing as well. The guides were very knowledgeable and would communicate with each other so we could all see the animals once they were tracked. We saw some pretty big animals in our two drives like the giraffes, elephants, rhino and cheetah to name a few. The landscapes were breathtaking as well. We would most definitely return!

Jakkalsvlei was a wonderful experience. It is definitely worth the effort to go out of your way to come. The wine tasting was phenomenal not only because of the taste and quality, but also due to the incredible views and tranquil atmosphere. Jade was our waitress and gave amazing advice for which wines to pick from for the tasting. Definitely will come back here. Take yourself a wine bottle to go!

What an amazing experience. Loved every moment that I was there. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The moment that you drive into the establishment till the moment you find a parking spot and walk into the restaurant. They offer a wide range of pairing options for each person's preference. What is really amazing is that they offer 2 kids pairings with juice so that they don't feel left out. They have 2 really good in house craft beers. Their food was absolutely delicious. Fresh produce and flavorful. Their wine selection is really good and not badly priced. Worth the drive out and spending a few hours with family and friends.

We went to the museum to show our daughter the post office tree as well as the boat. The shell collection was also very interesting in one of the buildings. Most of the displays are dusty and need a good dust. Due to COVID, nobody is allowed on the boat.

I loved looking at the history and the ship itself. You are allowed to get on the ship and go below deck which is really cool. Sadly there was two small boys running around and jumping on the beds which is specifically asked not to do. This is not only bothersome but could lead to some damage. Some rules might be needed for supervision.I would definitely recommend, it is quite informative!

There is some renovations going on around the museum area and the sign of the gate said staff only so it was a bit confusing. Fortunately a security guard gave us guidance. There is parking very close to the museum plus a few restaurantsThe museum cost was r30 pp . It's a small museum with some maritime history of South Africa as well as replica ship which is no doubt the main attraction. You allowed to board the wooden shipThere are also a few other attractions on the grounds, post office tree and boot , old cottages, fountain and some nice views of the beachIt's something worth doing if you in the area

Learning about the history of Mossel-bay was a nice experience . Great pleasure seeing the ship in real life and the shell museum was quite amazing .

I am from P.E It was wonderful to explore and get to be on the replica ship. The lady at the front desk very friendly as well as the lady at the lil shop were I got to buy a few items.

I enjoyed the time spent there. Very interesting to see some of the artifacts that were recovered from ships that sank around our coast line. Also visit the shell museum next to Diaz museum.

Wonderful and exiting place to visit. So much artifacts and history in one place, not bad for R20 per person and pensioners are half price.

Very nice and informative museum and gallery. The replica ship looked good and you can get on board and imagine how the sailors travelled all the way there. Recommended.

Very interesting history with lots of interesting facts mixed up with modern stories. The aquarium is very dilapidated and needs serious attention (very disappointing). Affordable, but not doing much from a tourism point of view, especially with all the passenger liners stopping in the Mosselbay habour.

Nice place. Entrance fee is related to the quality of the display’s. Unfortunately the boat was closed for maintenance two days before ( Easter Weekend) what was strange as this is when most people will be coming to the museum. It is obvious that they get little to no funding as some displays are falling apart. I think the souvenir shop had nothing related to the display selling flea market plastic toys ect.

It was one of the best informative museums I have visited. Beautifull paintings, full of color. It's such a vibrant, colorful museum. Amazing the skill that those early travelers had.

In my opinion it is an essence of a good historic museum dedicated to a certain event, in this particular case to the discovery of the trading route to India by the Portugiese. There is a replica 15th century caravel as the central exhibit and a lot of detailed information about the age of great discoveries, shipment and navigation in the Middle Ages.Several other minor exhibitions (e.g. dedicated to the ocean life) are available on the same premises.Definitely worth a visit if you are in Mossel Bay.

Decent entry fee. The granary was unfortunately closed. The shell museum is small. Maritime museum was a nice visit, but the ship could not be entered due to renovations.I feel the place has potential but perhaps will be better after all the renovations.

A tranquil and beautiful setting for lunch. Made a turn here on a lovely winter's day. Sipped on the delightful Rose, followed by a very yummy bobotie, veg and rice. My fellow travellers tucked into the soup and a German-style sausage. Highly recommended!

Lovely little vineyard in the heart of the little Karoo. A bistro to enjoy a meal as well as wine tasting under the misters overlooking the vineyard. Their Port Wine is fabulous.

After a warm welcome, we started our visit with a wine tasting. The wines are simply exquisite and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The passion they have for their wines can be noticed in everything. After the tasting we had lunch outside under the vines. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful experience and we’ll definitely go back. I highly recommend dropping by when visiting Calitzdorp, as for us it ranks in the top of the best wine farms we visited in the region.

The wine tasting was most enjoyable and allowed me to make educated choices of the wine I wanted.There was wine for all seasons, and don't forget no meal is complete without a good port.Their menu was simple and the food really delicious.All my wine was delivered without a hitch.

Lovely setting, excellent wine. Restaurant is generally good. Ordered prego with eland fillet. Prego is Portuguese and spicy. Roosterkok and no spice. The menu didn't say so. Very disappointed. Fish and chips was superb.

We always stop at De Krans for breakfast on our way back to Cape Town. Great flat whites, hearty breakfasts and a lovely grape juice for hot summer days.

It was a very nice experience to have lunch under the vineyards! Food is a bit expensive though. Don't miss this experience.

Excellent food as always. The chicken burger was large and the chip platter did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the food came quickly fresh and hot even though it was quite busy.The maze is currently lush and thick after all the rain. It is still as confusing as ever. Price: R 40.There is now a large strawberry which makes a lovely landmark. It costs R50 to go inside and climb to the top.There is also strawberry picking and they are juicy and ripe currently. Even after the initial holiday rush there were plenty of strawberries.Other activities consist of a kids train ride. Price: R20Bumper boats, bubble balls and go karts.

Nice place for family. There is fun for both adults and kids. But since it’s not strawberry season yet, you have really look to find ripe strawberries. The maze was fun and really challenging tbh. But be prepared for your shoes to get really muddy and wet. Wear rain boots or any appropriate shoes.

This is a nice spot to visit, esp. with your family and with your toddlers. Have a coffee break while driving the garden route or just spend some hours to relax while your kids enjoy bumper boats or have a mini train ride.

Redberry Farm is the best venue for small events. I would really recommend it for birthday celebrations and business meetings or breakfast.My boys enjoyed picking up berries and having snacks. The berries are very tasty and juicy, let me not spoil it, it is best you try it yourself.One downside with the farm is that you are not permitted to have berries while in the garden. Quite a unique, enjoyable experience. So much activities to do on this farm. We only did the strawberry picking and maze. Both were such a pleasure to do. The strawberries were nice and sweet and the maze was very exciting and surprisingly difficult, but hugely enjoyable. The choices for food are really varied. Friendly and efficient service.

This pleace is beyond beautiful. The grounds are so well kept, the grass is so green, and the flowers are so bright and colorful. We did the maze and it was so much fun! It was so nice to do something out in the fresh air, that didn't require technology. We bumped into people along the way and chatted and advised people on where to turn, but we just ended up getting one another more lost! It was really so much fun! We did the strawberry picking and train ride. The train ride is very short, wish it was a bit longer for my daughter, however definitely a good experience.We really enjoyed strawberry picking 🍓. They are so fresh!!! Service at the restaurant was average. Waiters walked passed me many times, so I searched hard and found a good waiter to avoid a bad experience.With a great waiter at my table, all was great and downhill🫶.

I love the concept here. The maze was super fun and it really connected everyone that played. I’d definitely recommend trying it. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and I can see how this would be a lot of fun for a family with kids. It could be better... I was managing it I would have more fantasy games like adventure trail courses. Real horse riding, not pony rides for kids. Get a bigger train and a longer railroad. We went on a day visit and it was really fun. We did strawberry picking and they were awesome. It's rainy 🌧 season now so pathway are wet and clay so comfortable shoes that can grip advisable. They also have many restaurants/ Cafe so you sorted for lunch. They have many other activities even for kids. Definitely worth checking out when in George.

It's always great to visit the Redberry Farm as there's so much to do. We have a toddler and a teenager and they were both able to enjoy themselves. There's quite a few restaurants to choose from as well, depending on your appetite.

We went for the strawberry picking, the strawberries were well kept and the aisles were nice to walk down. But I have a few issues first the signage here overall is very bad so you can get lost on where to go so It would be nice if they added more signs on where to go. But our main issue is when we were picking strawberries first we weren't informed when we came in that you cant eat the strawberries (I would like it known the reason WHY we thought we could is a) everyone around us was doing it so we both thought oh it must be okay and b) we have been to multiple other Berry farms around the country and they have never had an issue with it they normally encourage you to eat the berries so with all of that and the fact that we weren't told by anyone that we couldn't, we assumed that we could it also would have been nice to have been treated like a person when informed of this instead of being treated like dirt its just extremely draining and instances like this just make it so it isn't worth going) in the field so we did as everyone around us was eating the strawberries anyway as we were about to leave one of the workers came marching up to my father and said no eating in the fields so my father said okay?but what about the other people that have been eating them then? She just stared at him before turning to me to tell me no eating in the fields and when I continued to look at the plants while saying okay we won't sorry then she continued to stand there giving us a dirty look as if waiting for us to move and then when we were walking to leave she kept turning to watch us and giving us scathing looks (mind you she didn't do this to ANYONE else that were also eating the strawberries) this is a perfectly understandable rule and we will happily oblige if we are informed of it (signs could help with this just one in the middle so people can be like oh okay) when we were leaving as well we heard them greeting people and also did not inform anyone about the rule so I'm not sure how you are supposed to know? we were going to go to the restaurants after and maybe do a few more activities but after being treated like that I just told my father we should leave instead as they don't seem to possess any manners whatsoever and think it's okay to treat people horribly. Definitely won't see us or anybody we know again, all we wanted was a little afternoon outing and instead just got an absolutely terrible encounter.

Excellent place to take kids of all ages, with lots of outdoor playgrounds, petting zoo, go carts, feed bunnies, ride a horse, bumper water boats, kiddies train ride. The lawn and gardens are well maintained and there are too many activities for the kids to mention all of them. There is also a shop that sells everything to do with 🍓. You will definitely spend a few hundred bucks there!

Took my niece and nephews there for some fun over the holidays, and boy! Did we have fun!Such a pity we got there late so were only able to complete the Maze. Definitely a MUST for all ages. Lovely setting. Ample parking. Food and drinks sold. You can literally spend an entire day there. Can’t wait to go back!

Stunning location, lovely food, and awesome play areas for the kids. They've added another new play area, which is great! We could see the kids play from our table. They have a baby changing facility in the bathrooms, which was fantastic to have! Always a lovely place to visit with the kids! We received good service. Yet another great experience overall.

Our family always enjoys trips to the Redberry farm. Before my husband and i were married we did the maze together and picked strawberries, now that we have kids there is so much activities for them to do. What a great tour! Samantha taught us so much about ostriches and the farm, I would highly recommend it. Not sure if we were just lucky but generally it felt less commercial and the tour group was quite small. Also had lunch in the restaurant and again, can only recommend!

Our guide Ben was excellent! We enjoyed our tour of the farm, getting to feed the ostriches and hold a baby. The restaurant was also great, the ostrich filet was amazing and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return. It's a must stop in the area!

We stopped by here for a couple hours. You can buy some corn sacks to feed to the ostriches (we bought around 20 haha). It was a lot of fun to feed them. Be carefull with hand feeding them, they come picking at you with quite some speed haha. We thought they were very very cute. There is also a possibility to do a tour, to have dinner and there is a little shop.

I loved this visit. My husband and I were visiting from New Zealand and I told him I really want to see and hold a baby ostrich so we headed to the farm and wow it was so lovely. We did the tour and it was great learning all the awesome facts about ostriches.

Unexpected highlight! The tour is easy to recommend because you do learn a lot about these quirky creatures and the industries surrounding them. A tour starts approx. every 40 minutes all day and they don't need to be strict about group size. If you can't find time for the tour, you can enjoy a great lunch in the restaurant and feed the ostriches (just ask for packs of feed at the till in the gift shop... They cost around 25 rand). The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the shop is full of interesting ostrich products, especially decorated eggs and leather goods.

Our guide was very friendly, polite and informative. It was interesting to see everything from incubators to baby ostriches to fully grown. Feeding was also fun. There is a lot of very interesting information shared as well. Would recommend a visit.

There is so much we did not know about Ostriches. The experience is not only educational but also fun and interactive...you get to feed the Ostriches and also hold the babies if you want.We booked the package with the classic meal. Delicious meals, starter was ostrich carpaccio and a piece of Ostrich steak with the sides for mains and a well deserved dessert.The tour guide was great and the staff was friendly and hospitable.Very nice chill area to eat and drink and take beautiful photos

A fantastic morning spent at this ostrich farm. We had an amazing guide called Ben who explained loads of different facts in 3 different languages. He was particularly great with the children and everyone got to feed an ostrich, hold one of the babies and stand on top of their eggs (which can hold over 120kg!)I knew nothing about the wonderful birds before our visit but it was very interesting to learn about them and see them up close. We enjoyed it immensely.

This was our second trip to Oudshoorn and an Ostrich farm. Our experience at Safari was much better than our previous trip. The ostrich tour and feeding was great with a very knowledgeable and fun guide. Had a quick bite to eat at the restaurant. Food was good and very well priced.

Wonderful experience learning about ostriches and seeing them up close. The tractor ride through the farm was very interesting, and we learned a lot about the different types of ostriches. Make sure to buy a feed bucket so you can feed them. I would definitely recommend visiting Safari Ostrich Farm. The gift shop also has a lot of beautiful ostrich products ranging from inexpensive to expensive.

A nice experience, the ride amongst the ostriches was informative and interesting. We were fortunate to see a mother and her eggs. The shop for curios was pricey but that's expected as they're targeting the overseas market. An overall good experience.

It is a really nice place. We went on a tractor tour around the farm and saw lots of ostriches and even some emus. The guide was knowledgable about the farm and the animals which are on it. We saw ostriches which had recently laid some eggs and the ostriches were attempting to sit on them. We also saw eggs in incubators too and the guide told us all about why they usually go into them. We also had lunch while here and the food was very tasty. The waitresses were very friendly and good with dietary requirements.

Absolutely loved our experience with these funny ostriches!! We had such a giggle as they reached inside our safari truck and ate the food from our hand. The staff are also very friendly and it was a very informative and educational tour. The leather shop has beautiful items to buy. Definitely recommend going to Safari Ostrich Farm.

We went on a guided tour to Ostrich Farm. It was very informative. They offer lunch or dinner at the end of the tour (optional) . We tried ostrich stake, but they have other options. These birds are so huge, some are friendly and very curious birds.They have a small museum about ostriches and families who have run the ostrich farm for decades.

So fun and such wonderful birds, they were quite majestic to look at too and my gosh are they tall, I'm 6' and they were almost a feet or more taller than me, but it was fun, also remember to buy a bucket of ostrich feed to feed while your riding across the farm its worth it and is very cheap too around 5 rands so all 4 of us bought one and it made even more memorable

Best day out on our trip down the coast! The tractor ride was so funny! Ostriches come straight to you looking for food - could feel daunting for little people but mine just hid under the seat laughing and shouting "it's behind you!" Guides were knowledgeable and super friendly, shop and cafe were good, really enjoyable day out!

The place itself is lovely and the tour is a lot of fun, but I have to complain about the people running the shop (or more importantly, the policies they have to follow).We arrived and discovered that the tour was a lot more expensive than advertised. We queried it and were told that that was the price. Only after we had paid did they tell us that booking online was cheaper. We asked for a refund, so we could then book online instead. They refused. As it was a difference of about R40 per person, this was a significant price difference.

Had so much fun with family. It is truly an experience to remember. The tour was not short nor short in information. Very informative. It was all round worth it.

Great tour guide that showed us all the different ostriches on the farm. Very informative, a nice shop that have various accessories made from authentic ostrich leather on sale. You can also feed the ostriches while on your tour of the farm. Great fun for the whole family and awesome interacting with the ostriches

Amazing. There is so much I never knew about this very important ecomonical part of South Africa. We tried it in Australia many years ago, but failed miserably.

An incredible collection of train history and machinery of a time gone by. The level of preservation is impressive and the sheer size of the locomotives stunning. On top of this the museum is very clean, neat and tidy. It was an absolute joy to explore it

We had such a lovely morning at the museum! We were blown away with the collection & the excellent condition of all the displays. Anthony was our guide on the inspection train trip- very friendly & knowledgeable. The weather was perfect & we got to take some great photos. We will def be back with friends.

Wow, what an awesome experience. The museum is spotless and clean and the people are very friendly. The kids loved the old locomotives and old cars, and because of the market, the kiddies loved the train ride with the golf cart. What a great place to visit, and take cold water if visiting on a warm day as it gets quite toasty in side the building. Lots of history.

My wife and I went here to visit the museum and go on the power van tour, and oh boy was it a great experience. Great trip for a family, very well priced and extremely informative and fun. The museum itself was a tad bit dark since most of the overhead lights were not on and the bathrooms did not have water, but other than that a great destination to visit.

We were overwhelmed by the precious display of trains and all sorts of historical transport media. The curators of this unique museum can't be thanked and praised enough for their dedication to preserve this variety of brilliant engineering. I respect and hail you. A must see for everyone in my opinion.

Enjoyed browsing the vintage cars and railway carriages on display, ahead of Power van trip. This trip is a 2.5hr trip back and forth, with a 30mins stop for a picnic at a spot overlooking George😊 So pack a picnic basket and enjoy a lovely trip up the mountains and through 4 tunnels 😀 Only negative was the sound system in our carriage, was very tinny scratchy and could not always hear clearly what the guide had to say (who is very knowledgeable about the area!)

It was a great experience. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good so the views were covered in a blanket of mist.But it was still amazing to go through 4 passes and several tunnels! Will definitely retry this again

Great day trip visit from singles to families. Lots to see...from trains to cars. Many scale modules as well. Interesting displays...just sorry some photo displays' lights don't work. Entrance is free with save parking but please give a donation to keep this museum open...too many people just walk in when they hear there isn't an entrance fee. George's municipality must consider selling coffee or drinks as one spent a long time there and become quite thirsty. Maybe bring one of the eating coaches back to real life for a special experience?

Beautiful views over George.You will see the old ox wagon trail going over the mountainTake your pick-nick basked along because you will stop at a view point high up in the mountain.You will travel through a few tunnels as well...Visit the railway museum at the starting and end point. Visited the museum and bought tickets for the power van experience, and I highly recommend both. The museum itself is well looked after and well preserved. It's clear that a massive amount of effort and passion went into the display. The power van is a very unique experience that takes you into the Outeniqua Mountains with breath taking views.

Our second visit to the Outeniqua Transport Museum and it gets better every time. The children loved walking around and spending some extra time by the old cars. This is a must-visit when coming to George. Young and old will love it! I took way too many pictures because the children demanded to have a photo with almost every car!

Was amazing seeing all these big trains. Wish there was a coin dispenser for R5 coin so that kids can watch the model train. Had to ask the car guard for coins as the reception didn't have any. We made booking for the Outeniqua Power Van, this was really fun, however most of the guide was done in Afrikaans. The views were stunning though.

Good to see so many old trains and transportation vehicles that are well maintaind togerher. Take you back many year. This is realy a visit that you had to make. The staff are very friendly and the place very need and clear. The descritions are very good. Realy take you back to the old days and the way of working.

Had a wonderful experience here. A lovely variety of animals all taken care of exceedingly well. Highly recommend doing the tour it's well worth it, so informative. Our tour guide Navin deserves a bonus. 😉 We also did an animal encounter with the cheetahs which is a treasured menory. When we visit South Africa again from Australia will visit again as would love to spend additional time there which we did not have this visit.

This is a well run conservation wildlife ranch which is informative and well worth the entrance fee. It is worth every penny and the animals are well cared for. It is worth going to visit. We had a really love afternoon visiting Cango. The staff were very welcoming and polite. The park was very clean, the enclosures well maintained and clean.The food was lovely.We paid for a cheetah encounter which was incredible. We had a good safety briefing, disinfected our shoes and cleaned our hands. We had some great photo opportunities!Lots of photos of the big cats over the boardwalk. The snake section was small but good. Meerkats super cute!Loved the crocs - gutted it was out of season so couldn't do the dive.We would definitely go again!

I was truly blown away by the Cango Wildlife Ranch. We didn't realize you could easily spend the whole day there just exploring and having fun with the kids and family. The tour guides are so good and passionate about their work and animals. World class range. A must go and prices are so reasonable even in the gift shop.

It is a small zoo with some emphasis on conservation. Not bad but not exceptional either, very commercialised. Our guide Leo was great however with his excellent sense of humour.

You are taken in groups. Not all the guides that take the groups are knowledgeable and energized . This can really damper your experience. Beautiful setup and very well Organized. Animals are well kept and it was really a pleasant day. Well done. Really a Gem

Visiting Cango Wildlife Ranch is an experience that cannot be forgotten !The chance to see so many and different animals, in such a nice environment is incredible. The fact that they protect and help endangered species multiply, makes all of it worth it more than everything. Every ticket you pay and every special ticket you buy, supports their cause.It is a must see and family friendly.Danelle was an astonishing tour guide. She was very Informative, super enjoyable to listen, glowing of enjoyment for what she does. She even dressed like a small Santa clause suit since it is almost Christmas which was fun to see ! Everyone having her as their guide are really lucky !

Fantastic place - make sure you take the guided tour of around 75 minutes it is worth it. Nice cafe. We paid extra for a "meet the animals" experience. We chose cheetah ; note that meeting cheetah cubs is extra. We saw all the animals advertised except a hiding leopard. You get very close to animals especially with the walkway over the big cat enclosures

Amazing place to bring the kiddies. Slushies and candies at the store to give them their daily dose of sugar. The animals are absolutely gorgeous, very well taken care of. We got there at about 9:00, which was just around feeding time for the lions, cheetahs, and the tiger. The birds were so cute and tame, we bought some necter at the shop in small little shot glasses and you and feed them and they come flying towards you and sit on you to drinks the nectar. Definitely recommend getting a quick bite at the Turtle restaurant. The food was scrumptious, and the waitress who helped us was delightful. They have guided tours, which you can attend where they take you through the snake and reptile part of the zoo, which was very interesting. Both the kiddies and the adults will love the guided tours as well as the other animals that they have( one animal of your choice) that you can go feed and pet( you have to pay extra). An absolute delightful experience. 10/10 would go again💯👌

Stunning views + great experience. Highly recommend a 4x4 or at least some kind of SUV. Streets are hard to drive so be careful.Once in a lifetime experience! It was awesome but little dangerous in some parts which we would not have thought of before.

An incredible pass that is definitely worth making a detour for. The views are out of this world. Take your time and give yourself time to stop and take in the views from the various viewpoints.

If I could give more stars, I would have. A “must do” if you want to experience God’s beauty. The gravel road is good - take it slowly and soak in the beauty. Look out for the Black Eagle’s nest, soon after you have entered the pass from Prince Albert side and where the stream runs below. It’s on the left, high up between the crevices. No eagles nesting right now.

A really cool experience driving all the way to the top. It can be done in a smaller car, just take your time and remember to enjoy the views when you can.

This was my 4th or 5th time going over the pass. I traveled alone this time and it was a spiritual experience.The road is a little bumpy in very few places.I recommend this journey highly.

Great 1000m climb cyxle from.Prince Albert to the top and back againStart just before the sun rises and beat the traffic.

The Swartberg Pass (over the Swartberg Mountain range) is a beautiful drive! If you can - do it! It isn't paved so can be pretty dicey in places with large potholes.It's semi-arid so lacking in large vegetation but still stunning with its unique geology and topography, so much so that much of the area is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lots of animals around to see too from snakes to lizards to monkeys.We took the pass from Oudtshoorn in the south right up to Prince Albert in the north and really enjoyed the adventure. Also really enjoyed both those places too!

This road is a wonderful example of South Africa’s spectacular mountain passes, an inspiring engineering feat offering incredible sweeping views, hair-raising blind curves and stop drop offs. It is passable in a sedan if you drive slowly; we had no trouble at all on this gravel road in our little Suzuki Swift.

This masterpiece of the best pass/road builder, Thomas Bain's, has now the status of a national monument. Enjoy the breathtaking view in any directions and leave only your footprints and/or tyres prints.Leave ample time if you plan to drive this awesome pass. Stop regularly and the camera should not stop filming/clicking.When we drove it, the road conditions where in a fairly good shape.Yes in some places the gradient is quite steep but could be negotiated in any normal saloon car. This could change if it rains or even snows.My suggestion is, enquire the condition before driving this magnificent pass.

What a freek of nature. Nature at it's best. A gravel road that must be taken head-on and done with gloves. The best driving experience and something that must be experience. Not a very relaxing drive, but the sceneries make up for the efforts. All in al it is a pleasant and a lifetime experience. Enjoy your drive

Be ready for enchantment and magic as you enter into one of South Africa's oldest caves. Breathtaking beauty of well preserved ancient limestone rock formations. The tour is an hour long and the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to the preservation of this much loved cave. Take the whole family to visit. This is an incredible experience. My tour group love it, and I absolutely loved it too. My first visit here was about 30 years ago and I'm so happy I was able to visit again. Loved it!!

We were slightly late to join our group, but we had a great experience with our guide. There are 4 sections inside the caves and huge stalagmites and stalactites all around the place. The lighting makes it look even more attractive. Our guide sang a local folklore at the end and it was great too. The drive was a light tough, it’s way on the outskirts. Recommend this to anyone who’s interested to check out something new and exciting

We visited very recently with my family the Cango Caves and we did the Adventure tour. We had a blast, the kids loved it. The adventure tour is not for the fainted-hearted. You get to slide through some really narrow passes and it gives you full experience of caving. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind and made us feel at ease throughout the full tour. If you are not claustrophobic you should definitely try this out, highly recommended.

What a breath taking experience! The caves are wondorous, the guides are knowledgeable and friendly, the education tour is very well done although a little old, the gift shop is beautiful and well stocked. The grounds are very neatly kept, and the bathrooms clean

Amazing creation of nature. The addition of fixed lights and walkways does take away a bit of the natural beauty. But it's required for everyone to be able to appreciate this stunning cave. The one hour tour takes you on an easy walk. The longer tour has some crawling inside but a must do if you are fit and lean. I would suggest carrying cash since the card machine was not working when I visited (how that is possible in an international tourist attraction is beyond me)

A wonderful experience of this national heritage. The whole set up to the tour is excellent and efficient. I was highly impressed by the reception building and facilities they were clean and very well maintained. The caves are a true wonder and we were blown away by the history and the story of how they were discovered. Our guide was excellent. Funny and knowledgeable. I would suggest taking a bottle of water on the tour and due to COVID we were unable to book the Adventure tour which takes you through the much tighter and smaller chambers. Booking is essential if you want to get in and the tours leave every hour on the hour between 8-4pm.

Spectacular caves! We did the regular one hour Heritage tour which includes 5 chambers. The first two were amazing, one giant chamber where they used to hold concert for 1.500 people. The second one is just spectacular. The other three did not add too much.Guides were nice, helpful and all the knowledge.

A nostalgic visit having last been there 35 years ago. We took our 14yr old son who LOVED his Adventure tour with guide Johnifer. We did the heritage tour and it was every bit as awesome as I can remember. We had too many centimetres put on over the years to do the adventure tour 🤭

Much improved from my last visit in the 90's... Now it's still a world class destination, with facilities to meet international expectations. Gift shop is not overpriced, food options are good, and the actual cave tours are highly informative and entertaining. Our guide spoke multiple languages and entertained our small group with her extensive knowledge about the cave system and its history.Can really recommend a visit. it seems normally tour pre-bookings are not needed, but the process is fast and simple for when it gets busy.

A visit to the caves never disappoints… our guide was wonderful and peppered his information with humour.The tour of 1 hour was the perfect length for kids to enjoy, remain engaged and pay attention!Well worth the visitJust remember NOT to climb on the cave walls and bridal chamber ! An interesting walk through a cave system. Our guide was a little too focused on a single story about a previous experience with a larger lady and she spent way too much time teasing kids and guests. The caves themselves are fascinating.

The Cango caves are about 30 km outside the quaint town of Oudtshoorn. You have to book tickets online. Alistair was our guide and well knowledgeable. We did the Heritage tour which can be done with a low fitness level. Caves are well maintained with paved walkways. Price was R150 per adult and R100 for children. Bring your own food and drink since the curio shops are closed. Toilets are clean. Park at level 1 or 2, to be near the entrance.

A wonderful experience. It is a pity that tourists broke off some of the formations in the cave. Luckily there is a bit more control at the moment. There used to be concerts in the cave, and people wandered around, breaking off formations to sell as souvenirs. They are doing everything they can to preserve these beautiful, unique caves. You can choose the leisurely hour tour or the more adventurous tour, where you have to crawl through very narrow spaces. It is a good idea to test if you will fit through the narrow spaces before you go on the tour. They've provided some wooden areas to try out before you go on your tour

Mesmerising Beauty! Must visit and not to be missed. Jaw Dropping Beauty! It's SA's oldest tourist attraction. They have guided tours. Hence, it's knowledgeable. Umbrellas aren't allowed inside. Carry torch if possible. Avoid using a camera while climbing steps in order to avoid falls.There are narrow steps inside caves that make the journey more adventurous.The guided tour is so well explained and tends to make us fall back in olden days.Temperatures inside are 18 to 19 degrees.Outside the cave is picturesque view not to be missed out.Special thanks to our Guide Carlin, who made it more interesting with facts and was very witty.

The caves are magical. It is recognised as a heritage site and it was used by the first people way back when. The tour guide is very well informed and she made the tour fun. There are great photo opportunities. The adventure tour requires a reasonable fitness level and involves crawling, crouching, tight spaces and sliding.

We had a great experience at this place. Each session goes after an hour. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before the next session. We went shopping around to kill the time. The shops have nice things and are reasonably priced to accommodate both locals and tourists.Our session took 90 minutes. By the time we were done, I was finished, and the water shop was situated right at the exit door to refresh. The tour was quite amazing and the tour guide was quite amazing, especially with kids. This is a great place, and I would recommend anyone visiting Oudtshoorn to make sure they visit.

An excellent attraction and worth the travel to Oudtshoorn to visit.It's got a lot of historical value and the guides give a lot of explanations through the tour of the caves.They do have some restaurants within the building so you can have a meal before or after your tour of the caves.

Excellent tour around these spectacular Caves. We did the Adventurous Tour, and as we were the only two it was pretty much a private tour. The standard tour is not challenging whereas the Adventurous Tour certainly is. Not for the claustrophobic, unsupple, over-tall, or those of a large build - there are some tight squeezes.Restaurant, shop and plenty of car parking.Friendly and helpful guides and other personnel.

Been to the caves twice now and appreciated the experience a lot more on my second visit as an adult. Beautiful and interesting to learn about their formation and it’s history. Not much else was available on our visit… no food court, gift shop or coffee areas as it was all under renovation. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

We did the adventure tour, it was something spectacular to see and do, what a great experience!Pre-Booking is essential!I didn't get a response on their email so I just phoned to make a booking.My two children of 8 and 12 did the adventure tour with us, they could do it, just needed a helping hand here and there to climb through the "Devil's Chimney" and the "Postbox".In the Reception area there's a box where you can climb through to see if you will fit through the narrow pieces in the cave, I recommend doing that before you buy tickets.Highly recommend visiting here, their restaurant has really delicious food and it's not expensive at all, would have been great if they had air-conditioning though but at least they had a fan.

Buy tickets online and you can choose the time. Tours run every hour. The adventure experience is worth it because aise you go deeper into the cave. I would not recommend it for medium size people or claustrophobes. You’ll see formations dating back over 1.5 million years!!!

The visit is worthwhile. The caves are spacious and have spectacular spaces. If you do not have to deviate much from your travel plans is a good stop.

I have been to caves all over the world, and this one had some beautiful formations in large, open rooms. The Heritage tour was simple and easy, but way too many people were booked on the tour. It's definitely worth seeing.

Unspoilt beautyOne cannot simply pass without visiting this treasure! A brief walk of about a kilometer takes you from plentiful parking lots to the falls.The parking lots are stunningly kept and public toilet facilities are available.The entire area is stunningly beautiful and clearly a lot of effort goes into keeping this place that way.If you are an adrenaline junkie, the rock jumping at this location is fantastic!Thank you for keeping this attraction so stunningly beautiful and FREE.

Great little stop over in the Meiringspoort pass. Just a short walk from the road there is a excellent pool with clear water. A few smaller pools below to swim in. It is VERY slippery on the green moss and a slip and fall is a real threat if you have kids or an elderly person. But with the right shoes an reight attitude this was a great day out

What a lovely breath-taking scenery. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of water but still the nature and scenery is well breath-taking. To drive through is and will always be a great experience and a pleasure, just to look at the nature and lovely mountains and seroundings. Something that only GOD could create. Enjoy your visit.

The waterfall is not such a far walk from the parking area. You can see this place is being maintained well with railings and steps to make the walk easier. If you feel like taking a dive in the cool water, you can do that. There is also no fee you need to pay going to the waterfall.

A short hike is all it takes to this place of beauty. The stunning pool below the waterfall had many splashing about. The water was cool and refreshing on a hot day. It has a little room at the bottom that shows the history of the pass. And it's all free!

A friend suggested I take a detour from the N1 to Capetown and pass through Meiringspoort Warerfall. And boy oh boy was it worth it! As you approach the gorge along the N12 you suddenly disappear in between the sandstone walls on either side of the road you instantly feel so at peace. The windy road that leads to the waterfall is so breath taking and serene. Some of the rock formations have created balancing roocks that look like the sandstone has been carved by hand.When you arrive at the waterfall site, Its a very short hike from the car park to the actual waterfall, small kids and even pensioners can manage it easily. The entire park is very clean and tidy as well.The water in the plunge pool is ice cold, but what an experience being there!

Only a short walk to the waterfall, just a short incline at the start, but even the unfit person can do. Just hold on to the railing as the rocks can be slippery. There are toilet facilities and it is kept clean all day. There are baboons around in the parking area,so be careful . Saw one trying to get into another persons car when she opened her back door....Well worth the stop!

During our travels, we passed through Meiringspoort and was taken back by the beauty of the road leading through the mountains. Awestruck is the only word that comes to mind, and I dont think it does the pass any justice.When there, stop at the waterfall, take a short walk into the mountain, and enjoy the waterfall.

Beautiful place to visit. A bit of a walk into the mountain to see the waterfall, but quite save with rails to hold on to. You can swim in the natural pool under the waterfal. You do not have to be extremely fit to see the place! Nice clean toilets.

Spectacular drive on Route 62. The rockery on either side of the road looks so magnificant. Stop at the sign with the waterfall, the other stops have clean toilets and a table to eat but no access to the falls. It's a short walk, for persons with limited mobility rather have a walking aid and take a slow walk. The rocks around the falls can be slippery, shoes with a grip are preferable. Swimming is not allowed, but some people did take dip. There is no entry fee and no access control to the falls.

One of my favorite drives through the Meiringspoort Pass. The views are out of this world. The short +-10min walk to the waterfall is clearly marked, there is parking, and well maintained. The waterfall is just sublime, especially on a hot day.

Wow, such a short walk for such a great sight! The steps lead up, along the mountainside a short ways, then onto water worn rocks, opening up to the waterfall. The rocks on the last little bit before the waterfall are slippery, and I can imagine it would be tricky to navigate when wet.

This waterfall is absolutely amazing!Short little hike up some stairs, across, down some stairs. Very safe and well maintained.The bathrooms were spotless and very spacious with flowers and ample soap.The waterfall itself as you can see in the pictures is absolutely breathtaking! I would most certainly go again!

You have to buy tickets online .no cash or cards accepted there. Guide was informed as best he could . It's a pity we were rushed as I did want to question him about his facts. The inside is still in fair condition but they will have to start paying attention to the museum as not everything is working. Boat ride was fun .also they have no proper signage to indicate where to go or exit .we had to go in by ourselves and had no idea once we got out how to get back to the parking . Food options don't even bother .run down with no options and I'm guessing overpriced. They where running a special for R100 which for that amount was worth it . Staff friendly enough

Best experience. Was there in 2007 and when i went back this year it brought back all the best memories and i am glad i could share it with my family this time. Best historical place in my own province would advice anyone to visit the center anytime. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Wow what a great experience

I truly enjoyed my experience here and would want every child between grade 4-8 to have an opportunity to visit this museum.There are tours available and an interactive display to test your knowledge on various topics.This site might even help end racism as it gives a scientific insight into our earliest existence.Wow!

Interesting museum with very informative exhibition and stunning architecture and landscape. Worth a visit, especially for tge price. Was a bit disappointed to see a few exhibition electronics out if order....Our New Zealand visitor said it was the best museum they've ever seen.

I absolutely loved this experience. It was a stargazing event but the entire tour/itinerary consisted of much more. There was welcome drinks and snacks, a small time tour, buffet style dinner and lastly the stargazing. Unfortunately, as of this time, the caves were unavailable...

This was my second visit to the visitor center - the first being maybe ten years ago, and while it is still a fabulous venue and well worth the trip out, it is definitely looking a little worn around the edges. Sadly seeing a lot of the fun interactive pieces in the displays not working properly. Did enjoy a lovely toasted sarmie from the cafe at the entrance.

This was my second visit after 6 years. The place has survived the effects of COVID and is ready to warmly welcome visitors again.Great outing with kids. Well recommended for a quick activity.

This is one of the most important museums in my opinion that shows the evolution of the Human species. It is located in the so called Cradle of Humankind where some of the oldest hominid fossils have been discovered. The museum is a great idea but unfortunately suffers from a lack of execution. The people who work there I am sure do their best but a lot of the exhibits don’t work, don’t have a very coherent theme so the story of what the museum is about doesn’t come alive. It could have been so much more. I would still highly recommend visiting this museum

It was a wonderful place which I could share some of the videos I took there. The trip was amazing and the site are very informative great for all age groups especially children it widens their minds on fossils and the extinctions of dinosaurs which is something very cool.

A must see if you’re close by and are interested in history, evolution and enjoy museums. R100 for a basic tour and a tube ride underground into a simulated cave that show cases the elements of life.The caves are flooded at the moment and we were not able to walk through them, which was a bit of a bummer. The guide advised that they might be open end of August for anyone who is keen on that.There’s some amazing views with a restaurant at the hotel and another food court. There are some shops to purchase merchandise.I’d like to return to the caves when they’re open.

A must do if you want to give your kids a learning experience. We loved the entire experience complete with human fossils, a walk through time on the elements, a water ride and breathtaking views. Just phone ahead to check if the caves are open as they are susceptible to flooding and may be closed.

This is a great place. The main museum is very child friendly and the new exhibition on the first floor is very interesting and educational.The only problem is that many of the interactive exhibits need repair.

The halls are impressive, and beautiful, and the place is clean and tidy. The bathrooms were clean. The staff were friendly and happy to help.My family found the fossils interesting. Unfortunately, some of the walls with writing were in colours that are very difficult to read. The exhibition rooms could also flow better with more of a logical progression.The underground raft ride was fun, but it would have been nice to have some explanation along the way as to what the different areas are, otherwise it was a bit abstract.The reason for the poor rating is because a lot of things were ‘out of order’. And seems like although the place was clean, there is no maintenance. I’m sure with a lot of fixing the experience would be great.

Now this was a mind blowing experience and very informative. Not knowing what you to expect and getting the experience we did at the Cradle of Humankind was very inspiring and a must visit for both adults and children. It's a very educational experience.Learning about the evolution of man is something we take for granted. Also the tube on the water is absolutely amazing. Traveling through and seeing the different stages of life, ice age, stone age, iron age etc was unreal. Everything is brought to life so beautifully.If there is anywhere is South Africa that deserves a visit, it is the Maropeng Cradle of Humankind. To those who invented the design structure and entire idea, well done. Truly inspiring

Beautiful place to visit, I recommend this for families and school groups. What a rich archaeology site, and the guides were Friendly, funny and very informative. Another my husband was in a wheelchair, they made every effort to accommodate us on the detailed journey through the site. Loved the boat ride the most

Friendly local guides offer personalised tours on the hour, starting from the visitor centre. The exhibits are interesting and informative. A highlight is the special-effects underground boat ride which takes you through the formation of the earth.

Good for visiting to know human evolution, history, value of unity, and kindness. Fossils are here. There is a restaurant inside. I used bolt for booking taxi. Completely outside city. Safe to visit, staffs are friendly. In 3 hours, you can see everything. On the way, there are deer, tiger reserve. You can also find Kart driving on the way. First-timers would love this place. 100 rands was the ticket price

My son enjoyed it so much. He had learnt about in school so he properly schooled the whole family 😂😂😂😂. Great place to hang out with the kids. The restaurant was closed off for a conference which was a bummer. I'm love to experience places with my palate😂😂😂😂

We visited the Maropeng visitor site as a family and educational outing. This was the only option as the Sterkfontein caves are still close due to flooding. The tour was basic and a bit rushed and left you with a feeling of what just happened. Even though the site is 19 years old, the displays seems outdated and most stuff is out of order. Considering the budget allocated to arts and culture is R18.8 billion and the fact they charge you R120 for a toasted cheese sandwich, no ham or bacon, and R23 for a 200ml water, you expect a little more. Lets hope by the time the caves re open, it will not be a disappointment.

I came here early Saturday morning. Before the heap of tourist buses arrives.The museum is really good 👍 I spend almost an hour just taking it all in my own time.You can have a guided tour if you want. I didn't feel the need.It's such a huge historical monument. It's also a very planned layout. If you're a wheelchair user, you'll will not have a problem visiting here. It's incredibly accessible with ramps. Also It's walking distance from the Nelson Mandela house, too. People outside are very friendly and I meet Hectors sister Antoinette!! She does guided tours.

Guide help explain the history of the memorial and each component. It is important support the community and even better if you know something prior to walking in.

Only visited the outside and got a full explanation of the history and the meaning of the memorial. I'm sure there is a lot more to learn and see, but after visiting the Apartheid Museum just previous to visiting this site, my mind was spinning from learning specifics of the experience of South African Blacks/Natives.

It's quite dull. One has to read to understand the whole message. It would be good if they have guides to quicken the process especially for tourists. The reading is ideal for students not tourists.

I know The Memorial is very very important. I feel sad , because children were killed for no reason. I got depressed. I already knew history, but felt angry again. Memorial is very well organized. No one can turn away from the violence that happened; no one should. Main story is out of the building.When you visit please do not think it is a museum; whole area is the idea. Try to understand what happened.

Lovely experience. No bookings needed, we paid for 14 tickets upon arrival (R23 for locals and R54 for tourists). A tour guide was provided however he did not take a moment to pause and check if the guests have questions. Our tour guide also expected a tip after the tour.No pictures are allowed to be taken inside the museum.Overall a great place, just watch out for scammers!

Did a tour of Soweto which is a must do if visiting Johannesburg

Interesting smaller museum about the young boy who was shot during the Soweto school uprising. Very moving story. The museum itself can be seen within 30 minutes or so. Note there are 'guides' outside the museum who will tell you about the events and ask for a tip.

This place tells the story of how brave youths have fought for freedom and democracy in South Africa, You can actually feel like you were there when it happened because of the emotions the memorial will reveal to you.

It tells a great Historical stories. The meaning of June 16 in South Africa and why they started the Soweto uprising strike. Thank you to our Heroes/Heroin who fought for our nation.

Thou a great source of painful memories for black South Africans, it is a truly magnificent monument of historic truth and a display of courage for those who fought for black people to have equal right with white people. Even willing to rist their lives for us.The tour guide was truly informative and it was awe inspiring to stand were courageous young men and women matched for the future to be brighter we will forever be grateful. Must see.

Amazing. The cave system is huge. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the whole tour on track.Beware, this can be a physically tough tour. Lots and lots of steps, steep incline and declines and very, very tight squeezes through the tunnel system. Hiking boots or trainers are the only suitable shoes.This is a magical place. The geology and history of mankind locked in these caves is stunning.When you exit the cave system, take a moment to appreciate the highveld scenery... It is breathtaking

Fantastic heritage site that takes you into the crust of the earth and exhibits ancient caves were fossils were found. A perfect day out for the family but beware of the tight spaces you need to crawl through. The guides are knowledgeable and provide lots of information on the history of the cave.

The cave tour was really nice, something you should definitely do once. Our tour guide was AMAZING, (Think his name was Mfanna) very Historical, knowledgeable and full of fun jokes... Keep up the great service- Even the restaurant and bathrooms were sparkling clean and the food was great! The Museum building that you can walk through before or after your tour is also packed with lots of interesting historical findings.Spend some time (reading) in the museum before your cave tour because you are a bit tired afterwards to do so. There are ALOT of stairs/steps, some parts of the cave are muddy and other parts are very dusty, but overall I enjoyed it so much.

Must go outing, for those living in Gauteng.We took our kids for a short trip on Sunday afternoon.The caves present a different experience to what most outdoor activities in Gauteng have to offer. Going down into a prehistoric cave is a refreshing break, especially for those of us with kids younger than 10.

Why have we never done this??? What a magnificent experience! Ourbtour guide was friendly and professional. The caves were spectacular. And the museum building was excellent. There were some challenging parts in the caves to crawl and slide through, but all part of a great experience.

This was such great fun with a professional friendly guide who took us through the caves and explained everything in detail. There is an area to sit at where one can order food and drinks. Great way to spend a Sunday.The only thing i did not like is seeing how people litter with their masks and hair nets. Not cool. Throw your litter away and respect our earth.

Impressive caves with a rich history and importance for humanity. Nearly all of the publicly available parts of the cave are lit, the slopes are cut into stairs and the path is covered in thick anti-slippery floor mats.The cave has many halls of impressive size, with the most impressive perhaps being the Elephant hall.The guides are knowledgeable and friendly and you are certain to get a good history lecture on the fossils found in the cave.Bringing children is not a problem, but infants and toddlers will be a bit challenging, though not impossible. They have no toddler-sized helmets and there is one steep and narrow descending passage while leaving the cave which requires you to crunch down while simultaneously holding your child in your arms, which requires some agility and dexterity.

This was a fun and education experience. Great for an active family or date. Be prepared to walk, climb and crawl at times. Make sure you’re comfortable squatting down and bending at the waist and knees.

Very, very interesting and eye opening experience for us at the Apartheid Museum. We went there as part of a private tour and only allotted two hours. So, unfortunately we only made it until 1970 before having to depart. We recommend four hours to see everything included.We were a group of two visiting on a weekday so there was no lines, not very busy and no need to buy tickets in advance.We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend visiting when you travel to Johannesburg.

Such an incredible museum. The layout is beautiful. The beginning of the tour helps you know how to pace your visit based on the time you have. So many different mediums, helping teach or illustrate different parts of the history. Cool gift shop!

It is a fun place to visit for a deep dive into South Africa's history. The exhibits beautifully showcase the story of apartheid's rise and fall, all within a strikingly designed building. We absolutely loved our experience. We arrived early and took our time. Although I'd recommend it for older kids. My 16 year old wanted to spend all morning here, however my 14 and 10year old soon became hungry and tired. The museum is brilliantly set up with up-to-date information. Not much in way of food but conveniently located near the casino which had restaurants as well fast food places nearby..100%recommended as a day out in JHB.

Must go to the Apartheid Museum! A wealth of history, so powerful and well presented. Tour guide is recommended. There are a few details you might miss otherwise. And the museum is very large, so the guide helps you move along a bit quicker without missing anything.

This is one of the best organised and thoughtfully designed historical museums I've visited in a while. When you enter the museum, you are immediately challenged to empathise with people who lived under Apartheid rule.It compares favourably to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. Although we had two hours, we could easily have used another hour. If you read English, you do not need a guide.NOTE: no photos can be taken once you enter.

The museum overall was an okay experience, I've seen better and have been treated better. The staff in the Cafe on the other hand were another story. Disgusting, rude and malicious! The specific person has been identified in the photos attached. I explained to her that I disliked the sauce they put on my burger and she got IRRATE IMMEDIATELY! She slammed the food carton top down on my hands while I was showing her what I was speaking about and then snatched the carton from me. These photos are the aftermath, she thinks it's funny and smirks about her childish behavior. Just UGLY...

For a look at what Apartheid did in the country, how sad it is that we lived like this and people’s basic rights were taken away from them. This museum is a very popular tourist attraction and one must visit it to gain a deeper insight into the history and past of South Africa.

Museum is very well done and artistic too. Great transition though history in South Africa. I did this on a day Joburg tour, 2 hours is sufficient to see everything and read. Goes well with visiting Soweto too, the township that is a key example of segregation, separation laws, and racism. Temporary exhibits on Mandela and Tutu are wonderful right now. No pictures to be taken inside. Right next to Gold Reef in case you also want to visit a casino and amusem*nt park. Note, it is open 5 days a week now, so check the schedule.

Great museum with lots of stories and information. Not boring at all!! It’s advised you can spend 2.5 hours but I find I could do 4 hours here.

If you're in the area, this should be a place to take in some historical truths. When walking through, not only can you recount the historical context of Apartheid, but one should be able to see its affects on natives of SA then and even now. Only then are we able to understand how truly devastating the systems of Apartheid IS. It's rather insightful and warrants actionable atonement. This is not meant for just another walk through another museum.

One of THE BEST museums you’ll find. So wrong experience. Very moving. Extremely well done. Even if you o may have ½ an hour, it’s so worth the 150 Rand per person. You could spend hours and hours there but it’s worth even a short and speedy trip. Just deploy your speed-reading skills - you’ll need it.

Amazing Museum that gives a very full and in depth view of Johannesburg and South Africa and about the struggle heros that were involved in the anti apartheid movement. Budget 2-4 hours for this experience. Always take clients here when they visiting from other countries to give them context of our country.

This museum is going to stir up something deep inside you. You are given either a ‘White’ or ‘Non-white’ card at the entrance which follow separate paths in the first section giving you a very clear insight into how life for South Africans have shaped up over the years.The museum has plenty of excerpts, short movies, audio clips and a lot of info. You should definitely account for 3+ hours to really do justice to this museum.Tickets are priced at 150 Rands as of 2023 and there’s plenty of parking available.

As a grown man. I cried. The practice was so despicable that if you have only a degree of humanity, you will cry. I learned that apartheid was so inhuman that I couldn't understand how the world allowed it to go on for so long. The experience is something that is now fully on my soul. How the South African blacks and colored tolerated it for so long is still a mystery to me. If you come to South Africa, you must go right away so you can enjoy the rest of your trip.

Does a good job of balancing the horrors of the past with rich profiles of the amazing people who lifted the nation out of those dark times. Without a doubt a fantastic place to come. I don't know anywhere else in Africa to go for a theme park that comes close to this. I do suspect the staff of keep rides closed for a while for people not to have continuous rides. If you can come on a slow day it is very enjoyable. Especially if enjoy getting a rush from the free falling feeling. There are rides for the whole family and restaurants all over. Even carnival games some of which are very unlikely to win anything. Some are easy wins

Still nice place to see and feel the vibe of humans relaxing. The biggest problem us waiting to get into rides. Could barely manage a few during the day. Advice to all find a day it is not so busy.

We had alot of fun. My son got in free as it was his Birthday. Lots of rides, good food, great experience. A blast for the entire family.

It's a great place to go have fun no matter your age. There is something for everyone. If you love having the rush of adrenaline it's the perfect place to go. I would suggest though that you get there before they open because of the long queues (which are worth it). The faster ride queues move fast though. All in all the experience was great!

I took my niece on Friday, 8 April 2022, her first time. It was enjoyable. It wasn't too busy. We paid R250 pp, that was a bit steep to be honest. She's 9yrs old, that was a bit much. We had tons of fun and made use of most of the rides. The lady at the ticketing place selling tickets for the Gold pour and the mine tour is a rude and miserable individual, certainly not the kind to be at a theme park and dealing with patrons. The gentleman at the Gold pour exhibition directed us to her to purchase our tickets. He was the most polite, friendliest people, along with the lady who did our tour of the mine. Those two deserve an accolade, they made our experience exceptional.

My family and I were booked in at the theme park hotel. Staff were friendly. The hotel room was fine. As for the swimming pool water, well that was green so my husband and kids could not swim in it.My kids were thrilled to go on rides, watch 4D videos etc. However the queues are ridiculously long. Sadly there is no exception for those staying inside the theme park. It would be nice if they could give hotel residents access to the rides an hour before opening to the public.There should be a limitation on the amount of people allowed access daily into the theme park so that everyone gets to make use of the rides instead of standing tirelessly (during a heatwave) in queues to get on.People are allowed in from around 9am/9:30am but the gates to the rides aren't open so you have to start queuing already which I find really annoying. To top it off they close the gates to rides from around 4pm when the theme park closes @ 5pm. I do understand that this is within the peak season however I seriously hope management does something about this.

I have very fond memories of coming here in my childhood, so I was rather excited to visit as an adult ( I'm still short, but tall enough for the rides now). Besides the historical attractions for which is famed, recent upgrades and additions have been made turning out into a proper theme park. We went on a weekday to avoid the crowd, it was still pretty busy with a few school day trips taking place and bus loads of tourists. The rides provide enormous fun for ppl of all ages. You are well catered for regarding food, as there are kiosks and restaurants dotted about. For those with no interest in the park, there is also a hotel and casino.

You have to buy your tickets online, which, for me, makes things more convenient. There are the friendliest guys on stilts, painted gold, wearing mining type outfits, helping and directing people to where they must go, the line at the kiosk to get the tickets wasn't long and the staff are very friendly and efficient so it moves quickly. I got in free because it was my birthday and you get a separate line for that ticket which also moved fast.... had the best day, great food available all over, the lines for the adult rides were a bit insane but I didn't go for that, walked around, explored the "city" the fun train was cool with the tunnel that turns, kinda makes it feel like the train is tipping, my son (6) had a blast on the kids rides and before we knew it the day was over.... I guess time does fly when you're having fun!

We had an absolute blast!!The Online Ticket booking is convenient and fast and definitely helps the queues at the entrance going very fast and efficient.The only downside of our visit was definitely the extremely long lines at the rides, we had to wait 40 minutes to an hour for the rides but I do take in consideration that it was the first day of the school holidays. It was very crowded. It's also very frustrating when the boards cleary states "no place keeping" and crowds of people move past you to their friends infront of you making you wait even longer. I do suggest that the staff be more strict about this.Other than that, all the rides worked!The staff from the gates to the operators at the rides were very friendly.The bathrooms are very clean which is very impressive if you take in account the amount of people there during the day so big thumbs up on that!Huge variety of restaurants and places to buy cool drinks and snacks during the day.It's a nice outing for friends and for the whole family with the rides and games for the kids as well.Overall nice experience!

Gold Reef City is the most unique amusem*nt park in Africa, but that is solely based on my opinion. I would recommend anyone to go there because there is something for everyone and the whole family can enjoy these events!FYI - When it's your birthday, you go in for free!

Gold reef city theme park is such an amazing place to be . Especially to get that adrelline running. The place is fun and has that energetic vibe. There is rides to take your breath away... like legit for real and then you can get those calming kid friendly ride. This place is an awesome place to be Especially if u planning a family holiday. There are awesome restaurants there to fill u up before your next ride. The place has beautiful scenery Especially on the helicopter ride and the ferries wheel 🎡 .The staff there is super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back there again and try the rest of rides I have not been on.

We had the absolute best time spending the day here. Remember to buy the tickets online and get there early and even when you do this, you will have to queue for wristbands to enter the theme park. I suggest doing the most popular rides early to avoid crazy long queues. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of rides available. Lots of places to eat. Clean bathrooms. Even though the tickets are pricey, it is value for money. My kids had a blast and I felt young again.

Gold Reef City has always been a popular theme park. The roller coaster rides provide your body with an adrenaline rush, making you feel alive. A scream of joy, fear, and exhilaration!The park is very clean and well maintained, and there are plenty of food stalls throughout the park for you to choose from!I would not recommend visiting the park during the holidays because there are far too many people, especially during the December holidays, and you end up standing in line for hours and only being able to ride a few of the rides! Had a lot of fun at the Theme Park. Did the guided tour into the mine shaft which was very educational.Went on a few rides, was there on a Sunday so the queues were not too long.Best part was the anaconda, really nice roller-coaster but was over to quick :)

Amazing, thrilling, the best experience I've ever had thus far at a theme park. There is a ride for everyone. It is such a big beautiful place. Toilets are clean, their staff is friendly, they are all well trained and informative. I'd definitely go back, there is so much to explore.

Had so much fun! Went for a helicopter ride, then to the amusem*nt park. We had no idea that tickets were not sold on the premises and had to buy tickets online. There are more than enough food options and souvenir shops. Definitely buy tickets in advance.

I was 5 years last at Golden reef city theme park that time I fined it to be overpriced. But I was in press that there prices was affordable and you pay ones for all rides. Restaurants was also affordable. Rides are well maintained. I really enjoyed the whole day. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Cleverly out together, this disused open shaft mine cum now theme park caters well for children and those who are children at heart for all things playful. It's definitely not for the faint hearted and most of the rides are for the taller (above 1.5m I think) kids. There is also a kids section for the toddlers and infants.

Decided to have an adults day out at the theme park. I haven't been for over 10 years, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the park still runs. The park is incredibly clean (including the toilets), the rides are fun, there are so many places to eat. The entry fee is a bit steep, but if you intend on going on all the rides then it's worth it. The food places are average priced.The only issue was the wait for the rides and for food, but we also visited on a public holiday so it was understandably busy.All in all it was a great day out. Kids love it, but expect to fork out a lot of money for the day, so budget and save wisely beforehand.

Great day of fun! Rides for all tastes and preferences in a very cool setting, where the Joburg history comes to life. Well worth a visit. Waiting time for the rides could be improved a little, if the turnaround between rides is improved/more carts are added back to service.

That way, if someone has to miss out, you can redeem the ticket on another visit.In short, Gold Reef City is a great place for a family day out. The rides, cleanliness, and online ticketing system all impressed me. Just be mindful of the ticket redemption policy when planning your trip.Oh, and no food or drinks can be “imported”.

This is a decent theme park. I am not sure why, but the rides don’t open until 9:30 despite the park opening at 9. Get there early anyway to beat the lines! Anaconda is the best ride and by far the most serious roller coaster.

Had a great time!We went through on the Friday and slept over in the theme park hotel and then spent the Saturday as well. We went after the peak season so it was nice and quiet with no waiting lines which was nice for the children. All the staff that we spoke to were very friendly and accommodating. The place was so clean and well looked after.When sleeping over you get access to the park. I would suggest price wise to rather spend a night there and get access to the park for 2 days.Would definitely visit again.

SUPER FUN! There are dozens of rides. You do wait in long lines but they move quickly as the ride fills up. There is a science park which I really enjoyed. There are museums and ancient buildings. There is so much to explore and it is impossible to go through everything in one day. I loved it and I will be back to see the rest. The rides are crazy. With huge variety. They also have snakes in confinement before you ride the Anaconda. Everything in this place is awesome. Clean. Well maintained. There are afew food stalls with seating available. Beautiful ponds with ducks.I just love this place. I highly recommend you go here.

A really great family friendly day out. Not a far drive from Johannesburg, loads of animals to see - you see them up close and in families and herds. Really great experience to see predator feeding.The reptile show was educational and entertaining and the show was hosted by a fantastic female host... I've never seen a female snake handler before. She really was amazing!The animals are all well taken care of and those in enclosures have a reasonable amount of space to roam.All staff were very helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable.The bike park was a nice extra touch! Kids enjoyed that too.We were really pleasantly surprised by this amazing place. Definitely a must visit for families with kids. Great value for the price.We only didn't get to visit the Wonder Caves because the times overlapped with other activities.

The drive to get to the reserve is scenic and easy to navigate. The tickets office were very helpful. The driver started the drive in time, was very accommodating. He was very knowledgeable and professional. The reserve has a variety of animals that we were able to see and learn about. We did not get to see the lions because we went a day after the feeding so would recommend going on feeding day if you want a sighting of the lions.

Beautiful views and majestic animal sightings. The retail park is also very informative, including the bird sanctuary. It's well worth it R450 per vehicle for the game drive, you get access to the predator feed at 1pm and reptile show at 2.30. You also have access to view the captive animals, including tiger, hippo, cheetah, leopard, jaguar, panther, lynx, etc. Beautiful place to visit with the family.

This was my fourth visit to the Rhino and Lion Park and it is absolutely great. There is so much to see. Every 5km we would see animals, the wild cats that were hiding or sleeping all woke up during feeding time which was cool to watch. Entry to the park is R220.00 per person and schedule nothing less than 4 hours to drive around.

I really, really loved this place. Went there with my partner and friends, I would like to go back in summer when we can sit outside and enjoy the view.I had a desert, and it was alright. This is a great place to go to with family or even as friends when you want to unwind and relax also to enjoy nature. There is a biking trail that I spotted , and you can also rent a bike so those activities need a nice hot summer day.

A bit pricey compared to other zoos and national game parks but has the best of both worlds as it combines both zoo type enclosures as well as open game drive areas to view animals in natural habitats.Widest selection of bigs cats i have ever seen, especially ligers which were huge. Also experienced rhino and buffalo very close to our vehicle. White lioness coming directly towards our vehicle was a surreal experience though a bit terrifying at the same time. Variety of leopards in enclosures to be seen along with gorgeous white tigers. Only one of the big 5 we did not see was the elephant. Tons of other animals like ostrich, buck and hippo to see as well a giraffe feeding experience at the restaurant.Given the price would ensure you spend the entire day there to get the best value as there are many other facilities for kids -play areas, slides etc.

Went for a day, to the restaurant. Let’s start with the drive: lovely views of mountains and green trees —felt like a local gateway which was fun. The entrance is clean and well-maintained. This place is popular for their restaurant, but it also offers overnight accommodation and a game drive.We went to the restaurant, the attraction point is *drum roll* feeding the giraffe😅 while you wait for your meal or after your meal, you have the option to feed the giraffe for R50 (how cool).The food was amazing, and well priced. It’s a good place to go for a first-date, birthday celebration or just a simple Sunday family outing. Definitely recommend!

Went for a self-drive 09:00 - 11:40. It is wonderful that one doesn't have to drive for HOURS to see something (this is my experience of the much larger National Kruger Park). As we entered, we immediately started seeing animals and they were up close. We arrived at the caves at 11:40 to start our 1-hour cave adventure at 12:00. It started on time and it was just wonderful! It's constantly (throughout the entire year) 16 degrees Celsius. It sounds cold BUT DO NOT TAKE A JACKET. The cave is VERY humid inside, and everyone in the group that wore jackets, took their jackets off. Wear hiking shoes with good grip, because it is dark and slippery in there. It was just a wonderful day. The restaurant (Neck & Deck) is great. The only one "flaw" was that we were 4 people, and for 3 of us, our food was timely, but the 4th person only received his pizza later (the rest of us didn't have pizza), so we were already halfway through our food when the pizza arrived. So I will write a review for the restaurant pointing out that, if the pizza takes longer, then start with it in advance. But this being said, the food was great and the atmosphere is great. The views are amazing (overlooking wild animals). I had the grilled hake, and it was flawless. Overall, overlooking the late pizza, the day was excellent and Bothongo Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve deserves a 5-star review.

This place will be amazing for kids parties and introducing them to animals. The enclosures are well kept and the animals well looked after.The road inside the big cats enclosures are best suted for a vehicle that has a higher ground clearance than usual. We went in a Audi and won't recommend it, but if you have a bakkie or SUV definitely try it out. Was a lovely day and will definitely go back.

A real game farm on your doorstep.Only 40 minutes drive to a game farm that has truly amazing experiences.Lion, white lion, cheetah, tigers and leopards, to name a small percentage of what we got to see.The drive in the park can take you the whole day, if you want, with a large picnic area where you can braai.Definitely worth the drive.Also an amazing place to take your visitors from out of the country to experience wildlife without leaving the city.The "neck and deck" restaurant at the entrance gives you an opportunity to see giraffe close and personal. Food and service at restaurant is average and offering could be better.

Always a great day out with lots to see in the main reserve.At the "centre" of the reserve is a "zoo" with a large variety of animals including a tiger.There's also a bike track and play area for the kids + giraffe feeding at the "entrance".

We had a great Valentine's experience at the Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. The game drive was awesome, saw rhinos in the distance and white & brown lions up close! The dinner at the on site Deck & Neck restaurant was outstanding.

Watching the majestic lions and even having the opportunity to feed them was a highlight for both the kids and us.The safari experience at Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve was exceptional. The knowledgeable guides ensured that we got up close and personal with a variety of animals, making it an educational and thrilling adventure for the whole family. We were delighted to see so many different species in their natural habitat, which left us with a sense of wonder and appreciation for the diversity of wildlife.Overall, our day trip to Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a perfect blend of excitement, education, and family bonding. We highly recommend this reserve to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience.

Cars can go for safari here, if you don’t have car then you can choose open safari vehicle. There is a feeding time for lions, wild dogs, cheetahs. There is a cave, visit it. This area is safe. The staffs are friendly. It is completely outside of Johannesburg. While returning it would be tough to get taxis using bolt or uber. Come here at 9 or 10 AM and spend enough time here. 3 hours could be enough but with kids, you can spend more time. Photographers must bring good zooming lens.

I visited the reserve on Sunday for a light lunch and not a game drive. Great views, and the food tastes equally good. A lot of cyclists normally have their lunch at the venue due to the area being an ideal place for cycling.

We didn't get to see all animals, but happy with the experience. The instructors are helpful during the rides.

There is so much to do and see! Game drives, self-drives, predator feeding time (a must-see)!), reptile shows, vultures and so much more! The Wonder Caves are just WOW!! This park offers the perfect family day trip or weekend stay. There is a bike park and massive play park for the kids.

Overall, such a beautiful place. The indoor and outdoor. We took the game drive and had lunch afterwards. The staff is hospitable, at the restaurant and the game drive. I’ve been here twice and both times I loved everything about the experience.

Its good for a relaxing day out with the family. The gardens are very well manicured and ponds look pristine. A modest selection of birds but should still excite most youngsters. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I am not really big on places that have birds or animals kept in enclosures or for shows but I must say the animals and birds look pretty well looked after and most have good space to roam. One fun activity is feeding the ducks with special duck pellets but please only feed the ducks as they tell you. Otherwise, it's an interesting, interactive place for couples and families to explore together. Lots of interesting birds, reptiles and monkeys to see etc.

Bird Gardens is an affordable and great place to visit for people of all ages.There's so much to see.We were there for around 80 minutes.My highlight was the bird show.There's a shop there for snacks and drinks.When you visit, remember to wear comfy shoes and take a hat if it's a hot day.

It's a beautiful and well looked after and such pretty birds and monkeys. There is also a frog room and snakes which are just as stunning! A definite 👌 the lemurs roam freely in the aviary, so just mind your step 😉

It's one of my favourite Sunday activities. There are a few bird shows that are very informative and interesting. They not oy have birds, but also reptiles, monkeys, and more! The price isn't bad and we've gone a few times. We never get bored.

We went for a bird show and paid full price for 4 adults and 2 kids - all we got was a bird talk. A bit disappointing that we weren't told that there wasn't a bird show taking place that day. The garden areas were well kept and restaurant area good. Before you buy tickets at the front office, they should disclose if the bird show is taking place or not. Otherwise do a discounted ticket option without the show...

Nice place for a family outing. Has a playground for the kids after touring the attractions. An affordable restaurant is there with shade to relax on those hot days.

From after Covid, the park has been battling. Bird show very watered down. A few empty cages with nothing in.

My family loved it. It's just big enough to get your muscles working in the open air but small enough to not become monotonous. The animals are all well-kept and have the freedom to roam the main enclosure so you get a real sense for the animals as you would find them out in the wild. The gardens are beautiful, and my kids enjoyed the bird show. There's a lovely cafe at the entrance with a play area for the kids next to the flamingo enclosure, which really does make for a brilliant wild experience right on our doorstep.

Still in great nick, well maintained, awesome selection of eateries, from both fast food to finer dining. The casino is also great fun and worth spending an hour or so trying to win the big one. There was a superb collection of vintage cars on show ahead of an auction, added to the overall feeling of a few hours well spent.

Monte is always a great place to go unwind.I am not a gambler so the casino has no attraction for me. Fortunately the supporting restaurants, stores and entertainment venues are more than enough to keep even a non gambler entertained.The restaurants are for the most part well priced and there is an excellent range so you can enjoy it on a budget.The security is a great advantage as you can feel comfortable with letting the teens roam free without supervision and there are plenty of activities for them too.Overall I think everyone should visit at least once to take in the sights and experience but I am confident that having visited once you will want to return again and again.

Our go to place for hanging out with friends. There is something for everyone here. You see all age groups of people. So many beautiful restaurants, casino to play, movies, food courts, arcade, bowling, laser tag, plays, desserts, shopping, everything. This place is also quite safe that we haven’t heard of any incidents that we are aware of.The false ceiling and the fountains give it European vibe. You will take loads of pictures here. A must visit for anyone

Had a family dinner for Mother's day. I enjoyed every moment at Kream. For the first time a restaurant that gives you a hot towel specifically after the ribs. The food was fresh and delicious. Friendly and warm service. The ambience is breathtaking. Reservation was done online and when we arrived the table was ready and the waitress was waiting for us. Super impressed.

The place is amazing you can have your night walk in peace.. but expect lots of traffic walkingDifferent restaurants make it better for you to choose from the best also they do have clubs I was very impressed. They do have some shopping clothes as well.. if you have been to emperor place just imagine double size of it with lots of restaurants and out door ones for smokers with a great view as well I’ll definitely do this again

Visited on a weekend with friends and family. Even 2 small kids are with us. And for everyone it is very very great place to spend time. You have all kinds of restaurants, gaming zone, casino , kids area etc. You even have a place where you can leave your kids in the care zone and go for a movie or play in the casino. We had lunch at an Indian Restaurant, the place is very good and well maintained.

This is definitely a must go place for those who've never been there, the place is beautiful and it's warm inside so there's no need to overdress. Amazing activities to do inside if going as a group also an amazing place for a date with amazing restaurants and bars. Very nice family friendly place, as like other casino, R10 parking for the duration of your visit. Magic world play area well equipped to entertain the entire family, just gets a bit crowded. More then enough restaurants for your liking, witnessed at some restaurants you'll que up to get inside, which give indication the restaurants food are well sought after. So yah it's worth the drive to spend your day with the kids.

Fireroom was awesome !!The fillet on the bone and bang bang chicken as well as sushi on fire were absolute hits. Not so much their dessert as it was very dry, plain and simple.

I was here at Montecasino merely to meet and greet with our President that visited SA for BRICS Summit. From the outside is a nice and fancy place. Not sure how does it look inside the room an all other facilities as I was only outside and at the Reception inside area. I am sure its a great place as couple of Head of State was staying here.

It was an awesome place. I visited last week here for Rugby final match. CASINO is also very good here. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for hangout.

Very nice setting and lots to do. Spoiled for choice on restaurants but can get very busy and expensive. Overall, a very nice experience. It's worth the visit when in Johannesburg. Check out the bird park as well.

Well setup casino. This casino pulls in a huge crowd, because locals around love spending on a little gambling. The no of machine are huge. Multiple gaming options. Machine and manual both setups available. Located at prime spot. Good parking, various food option available.

Can be seen as a little deceptive from the outside. Great place to catch a bite to eat with a huge variety of options as well as the chance to catch a show. The prices on shows are very reasonable, especially if you think what they charge overseas for similar performances.

What a beautiful place! I was wowed by the decor when I entered Monte Casino for the first time the other night. Completely stunning how they've made the interior look with the buildings and streets. I absolutely loved it.

Lots of restaurants and theaters. Fun place to visit, but we missed the legendary sky painted roof? It was very dark inside the casino and very busy. Avoid peak hours if you get anxious in crowds! I would not say child friendly (little kids approximately 1 to 7 years). There are very few family-friendly restaurants with play areas (I know there is a Spur but do not know how the playarea is).

It is so beautifully designed. It has that Italian / vintage/ Rome layout. There is a huge variety of different types of restaurants - Greek, Indian, Japanese, Italian and a lot more. They also have a food court with a variety of affordable well known food places. There is also a lot of entertainment with the casino, bowling, games, bumper cars and movies. There is also a beautiful open area which has a unique fountain that children are normally playing at.

Breath taking! Resturants are all amazing, good food and service. All the buildings are a work of art 🎨.. Monti casino has good entertainment for everyone one!

Very beautiful! A nice variant of restaurants inside like Greek, Asian, Indian, African and so on. So there's something for everyone. The casino itself looks very clean and nice. Sadly we didn't get to play. We wanted a day card to play since we only stopped by. The machine told us to get them at the cashier but after asking we could only sign up but not get a day card to play. Was a bit sad but once you're signed up I think it will be a lot of fun there. Just wasn't worth it for us for the short visit.

Meh, it's okay. Cinema hasn't got anything exciting. Of all the restaurants I'd only recommend Lily Asian, the salmon sushi was the best I've ever had. There's nothing really to do here. Even the magic company doesn't offer much, and the machines are giving in.

We to a late Saturday comedy show and had a buffet meal before. Both show and food were good and value for money. Busy atmosphere, but pity about the young kids hanging around the casino while their parents gambled.

Went to the spur for breakfast. Great staff, pleasant atmosphere. The chicken avo and bacon salad was scrumptious. I ordered ordered a half bowl and it sufficient enough for me to take home half. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Great experience.

The getaway was a pleasant one. Rested enough. To refresh at a welcoming atmosphere. The facilities are well looked after and safety protocols up to standard. But need little improvement on their breakfast menu.

Always busy and a mission to enter and find parking. You rather make a reservation if you want to go to one of the restaurants for dinner or go early enough if you are a walk in.Cinema is good. Tried the 4dx. It was clean and a good experience. Not too much of walking is done. But the place does offer more than just a Casino environment.

I took my family here to eat on our last night in South Africa. We ate at Spurs, a restaurant I ate at frequently and loved as a child. It didn't disappoint.The staff were fantastic and the menu had something for everyone. My daughter and I are vegetarian so fully expected to only have salad. However there was a whole vegan menu to choose from. The steaks and ribs where a complete hit with the neat eaters and just as I remember them, huge!A great place to wonder round and loads of places to choose to eat too.

Very small room with hardly any light in the room. There was no separation between the toilets and the room. The WC was very small hardly any space inside. The restaurants and the casino area is good with good food. The staff were helpful and nice.

Went to watch a live show at the theatre. We sat in row F, but all rows is facing at an adequate angle towards the stage. Will recommend seats 17 -20 in each row as it has a bit more leg space. They allow food and drinks in except popcorn and hot bevarages. Friendly service at the door. Have plenty to do while you wait for the show or thereafter. No problem with parking.

I took my wife and friends out to eat and we all loved it. The food was really tasty, and we had a great time just sitting and chatting in such a cool place. It was a fun, easy night with good food and great friends.

Awesome place for conference, children's games, restaurants, movies and also mobile theme during festive seasons. For those who don't have access membership card the entrance fee is very reasonable. Your safety is really one of their products.

Wonderful as always. Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel and would definitely love to get my hand on some of the comfy bedding for home. But rather disappointed at the breakfast the next morning. Service was excellent but could have gone to wimpy for a better farmhouse breakfast

This facility is up to date and quality. The moment you enter you feel as if you are in a completely brand new world and all your worries disappear. This facility is a great place to distress and take a moment to spoil yourself. The only issue I have encountered was that one of the elevators weren't working and within that same are the lights were highly dim.

Hosts many events.. Awesome food and clean facility. I enjoyed my time there.. More parking space would be good around the convention area.

I had an amazing stay here, kind staff, nice rooms and I loved the views. Love the swimming pool, has shallow side suitable for kids. The food was out of this world, to top it off is the free shuttle to the airport. I want to come back here with my kids and family in the future

Amazing facilities. First class casino,best hotels. Great customer service. Though two of my phones were stolen there. They said they managed to find one person on the camera surveillance who had taken my phone but that was the last I heard of the phone. Really criminals..

The hotel was amazing. The casino was awful. Rude attendants everywhere, I've never felt so put off by service in a casino anywhere.If you are coming for the hotel, a conference, or any of the amazing restaurants, it's a great experience. If there is any human interaction needed between you and casino workers, rather give another place a go.

Awesome experience for my first time there, I was there on business and all went well until I left. The security guard at the gate is very rude, I ask him what i should do when i leave because it's my first time there, his responses were. Just wait here, GO!! he shouted with no explanation, I told him straight, do not shout at me, I am not your dog, I was furious and he messed up a perfectly good day, he was at the gate at 16h30 on Saturday 2nd of March 2025

Beautiful place. With Restaurants inside. Good neat place for people gambling. 5 star service all round with friendly staff.. Clean toilets. Wheel chair friendly. A lot of secured parking.
